The people working at Cuore (Hostel & Restaurant/Bar) are super open, cute and have a great energy 🌞 The building used to be a wedding chapel, if I understood correctly and by that has a very unique look. The rooms are clean, have a safe and every bed in the shared rooms is in a private niche which I found very comfortable. The common space/ minimini kitchen on the 3rd floor is the only place I did not really find too inviting. But the restaurant is very cozy to hang out at.

The lady at the reception was very welcoming. The hostel is located around 15 minutes walking from the Kurashiki station and few minutes walking to the beautiful old town. The hostel has a bar (same place for breaking in the morning). Tge private room and bed were actually even bigger than I was expecting. Was no fridge in the private room. Had a vynil playet in the private room.

Wow.. my fave stay in Japan! Now my 3rd time exploring this region. Absolutely 💕’d my stays @Cuore Kurashiki. It evokes the feel of a European style ‘pensione’ stay, including a small, cafe / bar where meals can be taken — including healthy set-menu breakfast. I also enjoyed dinner and drinks one night. Delicious. To be clear, I reserved a single room - not the dorm - w/a comfortable bed and en-suite shower & toilet. Simple, yet stylishly decorated. The location is incomparable for access to the old quarter and the railway station just a brisk 12 minutes. 1 hour to Naoshima or Takayama; 2 hours to Matsue on the west coast. A good quiet, convenient hub. Others have opinions. As for mine: I’ve stayed in all measure of properties during my week in Japan, including two hostels. Cuore Kurashiki by far my top rated stay thus far .. for value, convenience, comfort and charming style. Finally, I found the staff very welcoming, trying their best to communicate - both listening and speaking - w English language guests. Highly recommend!

Really cozy and convenient. I stayed in a private room and paid for breakfast and both were great. Perfect location to experience the historical district.

Pay peanuts get monkeys Beds are stone hard. Sheets as klennex. Decoration and design is facade instagram. But what wouldn’t you expect from such a cheap price ?
