Loved our stay here. Very comfortable traditional Japanese room, which was very warm and cosy when it was cold outside. The bathroom was heavenly after a day of hiking. The town was very quiet and closed in off season and the hotel was not able to offer dinner, however the hosts kindly drove us to a nearby simple restaurant which turned out to be great. The inluded breakfast was presented beautifully and brought to our room.

Although the building is old, it is well-maintained and the rooms and bathrooms are clean everywhere. The game and other kaiseki dishes were of course delicious, especially the rice and tea. It's good to see a ryokan that pays attention to the basics of cleaning and eating and drinking. The customer service from all the staff was also comfortable and with a sense of distance. Below are some things to keep in mind when staying overnight. (I didn't care) ・Insects come into common spaces Since it's an inn in the mountains, there are sometimes insects. (The room has a screen door) It might be tough for people who say, "I can't imagine there are insects!" ・The sound insulation of the room is poor. There is only one sliding door between the room and the next room. The door is also thin, so the sound insulation is poor. It might be difficult if you are in the next room with a noisy customer. That's it. As I mentioned above, I think it all comes down to whether or not the guests find it appealing. For your reference.

This is a quiet inn located a little off the main street. It's located along a stream, so when you open the window you can only hear the murmur of the stream. It was the perfect place to stay alone and relax. The inside of the hotel was very clean, and although the hot spring was not large, it was comfortable. The flowers decorated here and there create a stylish and nice atmosphere. For dinner, I had a free-range chicken hotpot, and I was very satisfied with both the taste and the volume. The hotpot soup was very delicious. I will stay again.

The rooms are Japanese-style rooms with shared toilets and washrooms. It felt like I was staying at my grandpa's house. Good hot springs and convenient for sightseeing. The food was also delicious. The proprietress is particularly particular about the rice, which she orders from Shiga Prefecture. Also, the rice crackers are exquisite. If you make a reservation for the night, they will reserve it for you the next morning so you can buy it.

Although it is a little far from the main street, Ryusenji Temple is also nearby, and there is a parking lot that can easily accommodate 4 cars. My husband was a cheerful and pleasant person. The Nakai-san's answers to my questions were not perfect and full of service like those found in high-end inns, but I could feel his sincerity, and I thought, ``That's charming, too,'' given that he was in the mountains like this. The inside of the inn was decorated with flowers and was very comfortable. The rooms at the inn are separated by fusuma (sliding sliding doors) like a lodging house, so it's easy to hear voices in the next room, and there are no locks in the rooms. I thought it would have been better to have private rooms, even though the toilets were shared, to differentiate the hotel from other hotels in Dorogawa. The baths for both men and women were new and clean. The food was so voluminous that I couldn't finish the meal. I thought it would be nice to be able to use Wi-Fi and credit cards.
