Karuizawa Club Hotel Karuizawa 1130 / Hewitt Resort

Best Service ever. our 18 mths old child developed fever when we were on the way to the hotel. could not find any open hospital so we just wanted to try our luck to go straight to hotel and ask for help. they told us its better to ring ambulance when we arrived, also offered us to ring ambulance on our behalf, due to our limited Japanese. a manager (I assumed) even asked one of their staff to go outside to direct the ambulance on their entry. while we were waiting for the ambulance, they gave us ice pack to cool my child. Can't thank them enough for what they have done to our family.

Reasonable price Enjoyed hotspring, Sauna, Kids room, and swimming pool with my 2 year old kid. Room is very big and comfotable. C/in took about 30mins, recommend arrive at the property before 3PM or after 4PM.

This resort is in the mountain area. It took about 20-30 min driving on mountain roads to get there. The resort is big and has everything you need. I got a family room and it was huge! The room has a big bathtub and living room area. There is also a small kitchen sink and countertop which is convenient. There is a hot spring which is free to all guests. The water park for kids has a fee but I think that’s acceptable. Overall I’m satisfied with this resort and would recommend it to families with small children. The only downside is that it’s an older property so the furnitures look old (but they are clean). The lighting of the room is also quiet dim. The staff are friendly and helpful. I asked for extra pillows at midnight (the ones in the room were too soft) and they delivered them to us without problem.

The hotel is ok. But the condition of our room (two bedroom) was awful. The furniture is old and broken, the walls are shabby. The swimming pool is not free even for hotel guests! We had to pay for visiting it.

1. The hotel staff was unfriendly during check in. Clearly impatient about using English. Unwilling to respond about our request about a room near the escalator and about its restaurants types. 2. The staff provided us with incorrect printed information about its facilities opening times. We planned to use its chargeable indoor swimming pool on the morning of the checkout day. (printed information says open at 09:00-21:30). The pool is actually closed on all mornings during the winter 3. The originally booking room type has a living area. Our room didn't. RM536, likely is the smallest room in the hotel (according to floor plan) In total we spend ¥174000 for 3 nights. In exchange of disappointment and infuriation

The staff do a great job to make your stay a good , torn,worn, severely stained. Don't know what the issue was with the heat. Not too warm. The room we had was a large room. Also was showing signs of age and or neglect. The room was very cold at night, but a portable heater was dropped off to our room, to sort of remedy the problem. Wifi signal was very poor. The food at the buffet was really nice and again the staff do a great job. The staff at this facility in my opinion is what keeps this establishment going. As for the building maintenance and upkeep. They better pick that up a bit. If not, the minor repairs will become huge problems and for the larger problems I saw, they better get fixed immediately. Or you'll might as well get ready to close it down. I don't like having to say things like this, but if an establishment like this, doesn't show care towards it's facility, then what's the point of even being open in the first place.

Beautiful rooms, very clean and nice. Perfect to get away for a weekend. Nothing to do in the area, but its perfect for relaxation

It is great, very nice, huge room and friendly staff. A great price this season. I got upgrade to a better view room. The Osen is excellent and quiet. I will recommend this hotel if you drive.

It was a perfect stay in this hotel. We will surely come back in our next trip.

Would recommended to friends, just the location is a little bit far.

Had a great view of Mt Asama from our window on the 6th floor. Not all rooms will have this view. Not much to do in the area but a perfect place to stay one night while passing through.

Too far away from the Train Station and not many choices of the food in the hotel. Shuttle schedule is not frequent and convenient. Hot Spring is nice.

Friendly multi-language staff. nice hotel with great food. A little remote but nice and quiet. Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds. Pool and onsen were wonderful.

Nice hot spring

Check in was fast. They did not request any passport copies and credit cards info. They just threw us the key and told us where the room was and of course we had to bring everything into the room ourselves. I was unlucky to have a very rude staff checking in for me. Not only did she show very nasty facial expressions, whatever questions we asked her, she ignored and gave us an expression that we were very troublesome. Room was surprisingly big with a good view. There's a convenient shop in the lobby and there's very nice onsen provided to hotel guests. Besides breakfast, we did not try the food in the hotel but breakfast was very Japanese style. It's ok for us but maybe not enough choices for some guests. The first night we were given a haunted room and very bad things happened and we did not sleep so we requested a change of room for our second night and it was ok. Staff were very lack of knowledge. They could now answer our questions regarding some spots that we wanted to visit and we had to search online ourselves and when we asked them to help us with our rental car's Japanese GPS settings, they could not set the GPS themselves. Besides the impoliteness from the staff, the hotel was ok to stay. Just do not expect good service.

Really enjoy the Hot Spring.
