If you’re looking for a relaxing place with great atmosphere and amazing view, you have to stay there.
The host is super nice. The apartment we stayed in is like an old country house with three rooms and a living & kitchen area (fully equipped). View from the porch is spectacular with great BBQ in the evening (we brought our own groceries, not sure if this would be needed).
You definitely need a car. We would highly recommend staying here and explore beautiful Shikoku (esp. Iya valley)!

What an amazing and stunning place to stay at. We picked MATOBA by chance and stayed here one night. This is my favourite place so far in Japan. Takuto looked after everything for us and does an amazing job and a great guy. Definitely worth the money spent. We definitely want to come back in winter.

If you're staying in the Iya Valley, you have to come here! This guesthouse is a 100 year old building that was renovated into this stunning mix of old and new. The host is incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home! He told me some of the history of the area and I had an absolute blast. The view from the guesthouse is also phenomenal. It's a bit if a windy walk up to the guesthouse but it's totally worth it. I will 100% be coming back here next time I visit Japan.

An amazing place. We thanked tons to the owner who build this place and opened as an accommodation which we are able to stay at this amazing place in Soya-village such a hidden sacred place.
I definitively come back again soon.
