Very spacious room but rather run-down overall. Near Hiroshima Station though might be a bit hard to navigate around as it is somewhat in the "backstreets". Also take note that there is a curfew for this hotel so becareful if you are planning to stay out late.

Very nice rooms for the price!

New Matsuo is located in the area between the Shinkansen and conventional lines on the west side of Hiroshima Station. I stayed here for the first time because I was at a drinking party and couldn't catch the last train and was going to catch the Shinkansen early in the morning. It's very convenient as it's close to the Shinkansen exit. You can board the Shinkansen if you leave 10 minutes before the departure time. The rooms and facilities are old, the unit bath is very small, and the toilet doesn't have a washlet, but it's fine if you just want to sleep. In front of the window is the Shinkansen outbound platform. The WiFi signal was weak in the room at the back of the 4th floor and I couldn't use it, so I'd like to get more antennas. The heating wasn't very effective so I slept with a blanket over my futon. It's close to the station and cheap, so I'd like to use it again. The second time, the elevator was out of order and I had to go up and down the stairs to the 3rd floor. It's close to the station and cheap, so I'll stick with it.

Easy. Just cheap. A typical example of good or bad. The room was smelly and there was mold and dust on the air conditioner vent. The floor was stained with cigarette ash. There is hair on the toilet bowl. Is the bathroom wall moldy? blackheads like. The clerk at the front desk has a stubble that is unpleasant for someone in the customer service industry. The arrangement of the beds was interesting though. I will never stay there again.
