Pangasinan Hotels

Pangasinan is a must-go-to destination for the adventurous traveler who wants to explore and the weary city dweller who just wants to escape and relax. Its combination of history, culture, and fun activities makes one’s stay most pleasurable and memorable.

Pangasinan, known for its crescent-shaped formation, can be found 250 kms north of Manila. The province has something for everyone: beaches, marine parks, waterfalls, old churches, and caves.  And there is also a group of islets that everyone is raving about.

How to Go   

By land transportation

If commuting from Manila, take the bus. Take Victory or Dagupan Bus in Cubao or Five Star if you are nearer in Pasay. Travel time is 6 to 7 hours for about 450 to 500 Pesos.

Getting Around

There are tricycles and jeepneys available to take you around the province.  You can also rent a tricycle, where a rental can cost as much as 1,200.00 Pesos.

Tourist Attractions

The crown jewel of Pangasinan is the Hundred Islands National Park. A cluster of more than a hundred islands off the town of Alaminos. The biggest is named Quezon. The bigger island has beaches while the smaller ones are uninhabited. The Islands now also offer activities like jet skiing, kayaking, big game fishing and more.

Bolinao also have a lot of must-see places. There is the Bolinao Falls, a short waterfall with clear waters. The Wonderful and Enchanted Caves for those who like to explore. And there’s the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse perfect for your selfies or groupies.

There are also a lot of beaches on the coastline of Lingayen Gulf.  There is the Abrak in Bolinao, Tambobong in Dasul, and Colibra Island also in Dasul.

Top Things to Do

Attend Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag. Built in 1610, it was declared a Minor Basilica in 2014. If time permits, also see the Shrine at night. It looks more amazing with its beautiful lights standing out against the night sky.

The adventurous should try the longest zipline in the country at the Balungao Hilltop Adventure in Mt. Balungao. The 1.4 kms zipline costs 500 Pesos. There is a shorter line at 620 meters for 300 Pesos. They also offer ATV Driving for 200 Pesos for 15 minutes and Bungee Trampoline at 100 pesos for 15 minutes.

You may also tour the 500 hectare Pacific Salt Farm at Barangay Zaragoza. You will be awed at how the little condiment in your kitchen table is laboriously made by hardworking salt farmers.

Where to Eat

There are many restaurants around Pangasinan you can dine in. All of them serve fresh seafood. But of course, they have food or displays unique to their restos.

There is the Casa Bella House of Ribs and Seafoods in San Carlos City known for their signature tender baby back ribs. You can also try Jacobo’s Seafood Grill, a floating restaurant overlooking a fish farm.

Try the deep-fried beef or as locally known as Pigar-Pigar in the Great Taste Seafood & Pigar-Pigar Restaurant in Dagupan City. And if you are in Manaoag, eat at Hardin sa Paraiso and enjoy their well-manicured garden.

Nightlife

Pangasinan is not known for its nightlife but you may find a few bars around the province.  Better to stay in the resort and do night swimming if allowed. Or you may just stroll on the beach with a loved one or with friends.

There are resorts and hotels scattered all over Pangasinan. If there is a beach, there is a hotel or a resort nearby. Pick one according to your budget, especially if you are going for a lengthy stay.
