What a gem of a hotel. Handy for the cricket ground and it was only about R150 for a Uber into the V&A.

Fine for a short trip; somewhat overpriced for the standard relative to other options.

I had 6 guys in total staying at your Hotel and they have all complained! I am shocked to see your rating is so high when we had 6 unhappy guests.

I booked in a bunch of employees into the Hotel for a client event close by and the feedback has been terrible!

I was told by my CEO that this Hotel is terrible and he will never stay here again!

Hotel.and rooms and bathrooms need renovation. No showet in room. And no tap mixers in baths

The Southern Sun chain is an African institution that has been operating for years. I always use it whenever I can as it never fails to deliver on its service and it always feels like coming home. The Newlands team are always very friendly and the food is amazing. The breakfast buffet will also set you up for the day with its vast choices. Rooms are spotless.

My kids and I absolutely loved staying here. The staff is so kind, the room was warm and cozy in the cold rainy weather, and the breakfast is amazing!!!! Really, stay here for the breakfast. They have everything and lots of it. Excellent coffee! We loved it. Our room had a lovely view of Table Mountain.

Great stay would definitely stay again

Staff was very nice and helpful. Driver was also very polite and punctual.

Our recent stay at this hotel was generally enjoyable, with just a minor hiccup that impacted our experience. The only issue we encountered was with the fridge in our room. Hoping to keep some food and drinks fresh, we utilized the fridge, only to discover that it wasn't working as expected. We were informed that it's a cooler, not a fridge, but unfortunately, the cooling function wasn't operational at all. As a result, we had to discard the perishable items we had purchased. Despite this inconvenience, we want to highlight that our overall satisfaction with the hotel remains high. The level of service provided by the staff was commendable, and they were responsive to our needs throughout our stay

Friendly staff at counter etc. Very helpfull. However dinner service/duration etc needs improvement. Was not happy with service. Breakfast service again was excellent.

The hotel was very clean and exceeded our expectations. We had a last minute late night booking and the staff especially Helena was waiting for us to check in. She was very helpful and made a long night enjoyable. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and the location was amazing.

Great location in a nice upmarket & safe area in Cape Town (behind Table Mountain). Some good restaurants in walking distance around. Great parking. Room was a decent size, however smelt of tobacco smoke. It could do with an upgrade & freshen up. The only USB charger point we found was on the back of the TV (but only charged with the TV on). Could do with a few more points elsewhere in the room, as all other hotels we have stayed in have. The shower (in bath) was a nightmare to use, difficult taps to turn, meaning hot water continued to run until husband's muscle power could turn it off. Not great having extremely hot water running when children using it. Despite negatives, would stay again for location.

Great staff and service. Rooms are nice but a little dated. Good breakfast, can be busy there during peak breakfast time.

The staff were outstanding. Everyone of them were very helpful. Especially Inga upon arrival late at night. Will go back there
