Me and my partner stayed last weekend in Hotel La Vella Farga. A beautiful place in a beautiful natura location. For the price you pay there are definately some big points of improvement that I would like to feedback on. * I am pregnant and we told the restaurant in advance as there was a set valentines menu. They came 4x with the wrong dish, that was either containing alcohol or raw fish / meat and they brought me a cava and the wine menu twice. Even though I specifically mentioned at each course and at the beginning of dinner that I could not eat or drink those things. For a restaurant asking 90euro for a menu pp. you expect that both the waiter and kitchen know what to serve a pregnant lady. The food itself was undercooked, cold and we left most of the dishes half eaten as the quality was just not good at all. We were very dissapointed. * The second night we had a regular meal in the restaurant. Also not great in quality. We had some pan con tomate with jamon to share (Tasty) and 2 main dishes (not so great), a desert to share and water to drink + 1 coca cola (no alcohol), we paid 173,- which is an outrageaous amount considering the main courses were 35 euros each and small. * For the restaurant a tip to dim the lights and to play some music that fits the mood as the music was often too soft (you could not here it) or pop songs which made it a bit of an awkward setting. * The Breakfast was great! Lots of options and good quality. Amazing staff. * We booked the apartment room which was beautiful, however the TV did not have any international channels nor was netflix working, that would have been a nice extra for a high end room. * The sofa arm rests were broken in the livingroom of our room * No towel hook next to the shower (would be nice) * We booked a massage which itself was great, but the music was playing from an iphone without any speaker which is a bit amateuristic. Also the bright lights from the bathroom were on which made it less calming as they were shining in your face while having a massage. The massage itself was great and the staff very kind Overall Its a beautful place, the staff and reception were very kind and helpfull but we were very dissapointent on the restaurant in the hotel and the price that was asked for the full expeience. We spend a lot of money for a special ocassion which just did not feel worth the experience if you put everything together. The place has a great potential to make some small improvements to deliver what guests would expect.

Massive disappointment with this experience. We were initially very excited to celebrate our 8th anniversary here. The place is stunning and the location is quite special however things were not up to par. We paid for the tapas dinner. It’s 50€ pp for 4 tapas and charged us 23€ for a g&t. It was not enough food and some of the food was not properly cooked. When we tried to talk to them they just laughed in our face. The next morning we woke up to a flooded bathroom (see video). We called reception and explained, they gave us a lame excuse. When we checked out, they never mentioned the incident. Not even a sorry or a miserable compensation. Shameful and embarrassing service. Disgusting trying to sell fake luxury to clients.

On arrival, the location of this hotel is in a lovely quiet rural area and the grounds of the property are lovely! We were impressed with the upkeep of the property and parking was good for our car. Upon check in we were offered a drink and time to relax before being shown around the property and our bags taken to our room. Room: we were allocated in a room with a small garden, on arrival this was lovely and nice to have the garden area, however for the price of this hotel the upkeep of the room left a lot to be desired such as the bathroom flooring all lifted, tiling cracked and leaking around the shower, décor was quite shabby. The beds were ok but was 2 beds pushed together which for this price is not expected. The room was located next to where all the workmen come and go during the day and the owners seem to reside near there so during the day you can sit outside but expect continuous vans and lots of noise in this area. There is also a generator located outside this room which is very noisy. There is a lot of single use plastic throughout the hotel including toiletries within the room and water bottles provided at check out. Hotel: when we arrived the pool was all closed up - no loungers/ towels out but the receptionist advised it was open. As the sun came out in the afternoon we tried to use the pool but no one came to provide towels etc. The following day when the weather was worse, but "influencers" were present, all the loungers and towels were placed out! Food: The breakfast is good, a wide choice and options to order. Dinner the food was very good and a nice choice within the HB menu. The service was excellent from all staff however when a group arrives (super cars) or when the "influencers" came in, the service went down hill and all focus went on them. This was a shame as the dining was one of the highlights of this hotel. Service: In general from all staff the service was very good, friendly and attentive. However the behaviour of the manager at this property was just rude - we followed him into the main building and had a door pushed in our face, walked past us with no acknowledgement of being there when we were looking for someone to ask a question to, around our room garden no respect for some quiet space and openly having loud conversations, dining room arrived like royalty and expected the staff to run around and seemingly forget about other guests in the restaurant at the time. It is a real shame that he has published himself across social media, if we did not know who he was, it would have been better if that is going to be his attitude towards hotel guests! It was also a real shame when the "influencers" were present, all eyes seemed to be on them and for a hotel of this level should provide that level of service to all guests! Overall for the value of this property we would not return and we expected a lot more from this property, especially with the Relais & Châteaux brand.

Location is NOT ALL! The old farm house and the sureoundings are like everybody says: stunning and really peaceful but for us it stopped there! First of al during check-in ( which was expedited by a french woman that didnt do her job properly to say the least) the owner paraded in front of us without even introduce himself, and had this behaviour multiple times during our 7 days stay! The other owner a woman did talk to us during breakfast on our last day just because she had to due to employee days off. We had a room that could be just fantastic but that is left completly abandonned by them, light in the living room not working, sofa cover torn off and not properly installed on the sofa, paint of the enamel of the bathtub going off which really feels u are taking a bath in a rotten bathtub which I could not ! The joint on the shower door is badly made so u think the door will break each time u push it, and it floods the room when in use. The room has a kitchen but no wine glasses, no dish towels or soap… etc etc On the first night we came back from the reataurant only to find out that there were holes and sewing repairs on our bedsheets… really for more than 500e per night? The wood blinders of the bathroom window are broken, we had to use a trash bag to keep it up to let air pass … For a supposedly interior designer the decoration and furnitures in the room were horrible, a real disaster! Broken miror on the terrace as well as a torn out sofa. We had half board but beware most of the dishes on the menu are with supplement… half board doesnt even include water !! Breakfast was good and what makes it even more special is Kaosara , she brings a smile and a good dose of professionalism in this mess. Also their maintenance man Hannibal is very good, he does it all! Fabiola and her collegue from Cuba( I apologize for not remembering her name) were truly helpful and did everythg they could to make the stay better. Sabrina and Jennifer at the restaurant are wonderful. My feeling is that they are lucky to have good people working there Like the title the location does’nt do everythg and the cozyness and welcoming so important for RC doesn’t exist here. All in all we feel ripped off for the price we paid, and decided to leave a day earlier. To be fair they offered us a diner for tonight but I say: too little too late! It does need a lot of maintenance and I wonder if they can keep up with it.

As someone who has travelled extensively over the last 10 years, I can honestly say with hand on heart this is the most relaxing stay I've had in a hotel. The hotel itself - awesome The staff - spectacular The food - Indulgent The surroundings - picturesque I could not have asked for more from my three-night stay and could not have picked a better place to relax and unwind. It was the perfect stop midway through a driving holiday. I'll most certainly be back.
