We came for a spontaneous one night visit to Cadiz and as always when we travel with the family with two small kids it’s usually the question of who gets stuck with daddy and his loud snoring. Thankfully this hotel offered a very nice solution with two adjoining rooms at a very good price, which meant nobody had to deal with daddy‘s snoring, ha! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the reservation on the website, losing some extra benefits so I ended up using one of the online services. I notified the hotel in hopes that I would still benefit from the late checkout and later cancellation date etc. but that wasn’t offered. Just a minor detail. Otherwise they were very quick and precise with email correspondence to reply to any questions. Upon arrival it was a quick check in, I recommend doing that in advance online. Being dog friendly, it was a nice detail to add bowls and a dog bed for the room, very considerate. The rooms were immaculately cleaned, tastefully arranged recently renovated although I kind of feel bad for them. I work with interior design and construction and it was unfortunate to see the poorly executed details of the tile grouting, silicone and such. That’s just me picking though. The beds were very comfortable, pillows as well and everything was spaced out in a nice end yet to compact way not to waste space. I do wish they would’ve had ceiling fans as this would dramatically decrease their electricity usage for the AC when you just want a bit of air movement. Location was very nice, I love these old buildings, especially when they take the time to renovate and retain old details and features online looking fresh and new. Parking is no joke in Cadiz, unless it’s Sunday and you’re allowed to use the works and deliveries parking spaces, you definitely have to resort to the typical large capacity parking garages with quite ridiculous rates. I personally recommend using the open air parking in the harbor, there are even four electric car chargers there that charge for €0.35 per kilowatt hour. For once I actually don’t have anything truly meaningful negative to say about any of the experience. It was hasslefree, nice and fresh, well priced, all interactions were very friendly and professional, no noise. And, personality for me and my family, having the room configuration like this was a great success with everyone sleeping comfortably and quiet quietly, well except for daddy’s snoring of course.

My family booked 3 interior rooms with window, two of the rooms were very spacious but one of them was almost half the size even though we paid the same amount for all three rooms. When I went to reception to complain they said they charge for room type not room size and that there was nothing they could do about the price. I found this completely unfair as I could barely walk around my bed whereas the other rooms had a lot more space with extra seating. So on top that the rooms were super expensive one of us had to pay more for less.

Pretty building but who cares when the mattress is as hard as the marble floors. The bed ruined our experience at this hotel. I would not have booked this hotel if I knew the beds would be so horribly hard and uncomfortable. Room is small, we booked a two bed room because we did NOT want to sleep together and the beds were touching each other and couldn’t be moved. Awkward. I’d recommend they install more towel hanging rods. The housekeeper noticed we had to sleep head to toe and considerately made the bed this way. No free breakfast. Floors around the window were 18 inches deeper than the main floor and would be dangerous for kids. Too expensive.

A great hotel for location and the building itself is impressive and historic. Roof terrace bar is a nice addition and so is the attached cafe/bar which did a nice selection for breakfast. The room itself was clean with a comfy bed and a modern bathroom. The balcony meant you could step out and enjoy the hustle of the street. However that same proximity to the street meant it was a bit loud at night as people pass underneath or if a few locals are having a drink below at the cafe/bar. This slight noise is a worthwhile trade off though when you consider how great the location of this hotel is. Short walk to most main sights and on a lovely historical street. Lastly, we loved the additional touch of each room being named after a historic figure (with a portrait inside to explain their significance). Would 100% stay again if we returned to Cadiz!

the only advantage of the hotel is the location. the rooms are depressingly small, there is literally nowhere to open your suitcase. The balcony, which is sent as an extra and raises the price of the room, is 30 cm and is actually unusable. no breakfast included, no 24-hour reception. For the conditions that are offered, the price should be half. We are extremely disappointed.
