I was pleasantly pleased and surprised. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and all the staff i interacted with were very pleasant, especially the lady working the front desk that day. We had over 200 band members, but check-in was no problem. This is the most impressive part; I was one driver among a total of (5) 45 ft. charter buses, carrying Steven F. Austin marching band for a performance at the Alamodome. When we arrived at the hotel late in the day, the staff had coned-off enough room in their parking lot to park all 5 buses safely inside a locked gated fence. It has been my past experience with many of the downtown hotels that the driver is on his own to find a place hopefully park his bus. Not so here. I would recommend that any school or private groups visiting San Antonio by bus use this hotel.

Where do I begin. Upon arrival, we were not greeted with a warm welcome. The two ladies at the desk (Gail) were very unpleasant and just plain rude. I’m not sure why, they seemed polite with other guests. You’d think that members of Friends and Family would be treated just as nice. Also, the two rooms I received appeared clean at a glance, but then noticed all the dirt and trash shoved under the furniture. Smudges on desk and tv, and the linens were noticeably stained. The tub had mold and the sink faucet was completely loose. I know this hotel is older but there is no excuse for having the rooms in such bad shape. Shame on the housecleaning/maintenance management. After speaking to one of the managers, all she could offer was a refund and pretty much said I can take my business elsewhere. No apologies. First and last time, never again will my family and I stay in this hotel.

The room looked clean; however, the floors in other Hampton Inn’s seem clean, but this one felt dirty. The bathroom had hair on the floor and the shower/tub were stained. There was a wet stain on the black out blinds. There is no fan in the bathroom making it stuffy when showering. The staff were helpful and kind. Didn’t offer the items that come with my Gold status. The hotel is located in a good spot in Downtown and the river walk, but it is right by the freeway and loud.

Josue was an outstanding representative for Hampton Inn. He exemplified professional and dedication to good customer service and poise. He was kind as well as articulate in assisting us to get to our room, parking, and navigating us to the riverwalk. I like that Hampton does a good job ensuring that their employees are confident and proud of their brand. We will be back soon.

I would have given this location a better review but after staying there I had to describe my experience. First off, paying $35 for parking is ridiculous. The room was not too bad. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was decent. The supply of towels was of good quality. The AC worked great in our room. Breakfast in the morning was good. Lots of variety to choose from. Where I was discouraged about was the kitchen staff lady literally sitting on top of the counter where the microwave sits. I'm sorry but your guests are getting breakfast in this area your coworker shouldn't be sitting on top of the counter where people get their food. Second thing that discouraged me during breakfast as we were eating the 2 kitchen staff ladies were talking about " personal" issues and cursing. They shouldn't be discussing personal lives or cursing around guests. That is very unprofessional. When we checked out the lady at the front desk was very nice. Last complaint, your parking lot where everyone pays to park has ANTS! They got inside our car and we had to stop at the car wash to use the vacuum to try to get them out! So many ants 🐜!!!!!!! I hope we got them all!!!! I suggest you get your area sprayed for bugs or you will have more complaints.
