This hotel is located on quite possibly the prettiest part of the island, built into the rocks with stunning views. The room was fairly basic but clean and being on the ground floor it was nice to be able to step straight out into the pool area. All the staff we encountered were very welcoming and helpful. The buffet meals were decent, some nights were better than others but I enjoyed the variation. The pool was never too busy and had a really peaceful atmosphere. I'd highly recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere beautiful and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is not bad, but some rooms look old and need renovation. Beautiful view from the window. A safe deposit box is available for a fee (this is not listed on the hotel's website). Underground parking is paid (as indicated on the hotel's website), but you can always park your car along the road in designated parking areas. Double beds consist of two beds on wheels that move apart all the time, this option is suitable if you sleep separately on different beds. Breakfast is generally good, but there are few bakery products and fruits, and it's the same food every day. In my opinion, the price is too high for a hotel of this type.

Nicely laid out hotel - with spacious and modern interior - rooms are large and comfortable - the pool deck is very nice (although is not sun facing). The pool bar food is quite basic. The buffet breakfast is varied and generous. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are excellent views from the rooftop bar. The hotel is located just out of town with a lovely walk along the coast to the port. Would be nice if hotel had a total smoking ban.

I would like to share my experience at the Occidental Roca Negra Hotel in Gran Canaria. Unfortunately, the spa is outdated and in need of renovation. The water temperature does not meet standard spa expectations, making it less enjoyable. Additionally, there is no fresh air circulation, likely due to its location on the lower floor of the building. A new ventilation or exhaust system is definitely needed. The staff experience was also disappointing. The man managing the spa had an unhelpful attitude when asked questions regarding to Spa facility, simply stating, “What it is, is what it is,” and suggesting that guests should already know the details from the hotel’s official website. This dismissive approach made the experience even more frustrating. Overall, paying for the spa felt like a waste, and it was not worth the cost and time. However, aside from the spa, the hotel itself was wonderful—especially the pool area, restaurant and beautiful room with ocean view, the staff work for this hotel are friendly and helpful.

I’ve been to a Barcelo, or affiliates several times, none had let me down :) Here I’ve booked a Double Room Ocean View, and asked for a high floor room. They made it possible, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!! The views and tranquility is 10/10! If you are looking for a calm place, this is it. Food was good, if not perfect, room cleaning was very good. Cannot fault anything really, the pool was quite cold, but that’s not a problem for me personally. Parking is free on the streets, 2 out of 3 times I could find a place, once had to use the garage for 10€, no big deal.
