This castle is an amazing place to stay - a unique experience. Room was very good; staff were friendly and very helpful; especially Andrea who was outstanding! Thanks for helping with wine & food choices! Particularly appreciated being amongst predominantly Spanish speaking visitors. Thoroughly enjoyed Spanish culture and village life - local Festival with street procession, bull running and the locals having a great party time!

We stayed in three Paradores during this trip and the food in this restaurant was by far the best. It was a pity that the towers were under maintenance and surrounded by scaffolding, but the ambience was very nice. This Paradore will be remembered as one of the highlights of this holiday.

The two rooms we rented were small but comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathrooms both had jetted tubs that I didn’t have time to try. There was a nice large swimming pool that I wished it had been warmer to use. It was warm enough to have dinner in the interior courtyard, and the food, service and ambiance were excellent. The Parador opened in 1966, and it was originally the 14th century castle of the Counts of Oropesa.

Each parador is somewhat different and this is best for it’s structure as a castle, with lovely grounds (and a pool) and a nice courtyard for drinks. But the salons are more like museum rooms rather than ones to linger in. The food is reliably good in paradores these days, lots of local specialties, and great service.

We had a two night stay at this parador, the building and views were unbelievable.
The room was good - nice views and a good shower but wasn't as big as in other paradors, we had twin beds rather than a large bed.
On our second evening we had dinner in the restaurant, which was disappointing. My partner had codillo which was a bit plain and lacked seasoning and I had cochinillo which had an odd flavour, for dessert we had carrot pudding - again not the best, experimental but overall disappointing. Considering the high price we felt a little let down by what we were served.
