This place is paradise. The rooms are big and clean, they clean every day, we had access to all the facilities in the resort, the beach is gorgeous, the ocean has no ebb and flow, the staff is very attentive to every detail, they change your glass or plate immediately, good food, very decent prices. I had a dream vacation. A place I would come back to anytime.

Really enjoyed this resort. Great location, beautiful beach, awesome service! Staff went out of their way to accommodate us often. Left 2 days before the full moon party. 🥲 I highly recommended and will be returning to this hotel.

s very bad First of all, when we arrived at the reception they asked us for an extra $400 for a child, while on booking there was a difference of only $100. In the evening at the restaurant we asked for sparkling water and they told us they didn't have any more, what resort that claims to be 4 stars has this rasp at dinner? Wi-Fi non-existent throughout the resort, to read an email I had to go to the neighbors at Gold resort. In the morning when you want a coffee you are told that they don't have milk, besides waiting an hour for a coffee to come. Sun loungers on the beach crowded together, very poor menu variety, the same menu at the beach and at the restaurant. The minibar in the room only had 3 still waters, breakfast which was until 10 am when I arrived at 9.30 there was nothing left to eat. Maximum 2 stars for this resort, I will never return here

Absolutely beautiful place. The room is clean, spacious and has a terrace with a beautiful view of palm trees and the ocean. Excellent breakfast and drinks. The beach is wonderful with a DJ and a few steps from the apartment.

Our experience at Kendwa Rocks Hotel over New Year’s Eve was unfortunately disappointing. Known as one of Tanzania's most popular party destinations, we had high expectations, but the service and overall experience fell far below the standard we anticipated. On New Year’s Eve, we faced unnecessary inconvenience when the bars refused to accept our deposit to the room. My fiancé had to visit four different bars, only to find out the next day from the restaurant manager that we could have used the room deposit after all. This lack of communication was frustrating and avoidable. Service throughout our stay was consistently slow. Restaurant orders took a minimum of two hours to be served, with multiple errors along the way—one order was not even sent to the kitchen. Some staff members were visibly unprofessional, even making rude faces when approached. However, there were a few staff members who stood out for their professionalism and kindness: Ibrahim, our waiter, Mukrim at the reception, and Hassan, the newly appointed restaurant manager, who was only three weeks into the role but far more capable than most of the team. The rest of the staff could greatly benefit from their example. The room experience was equally disappointing. The water stopped working in the middle of a shower, leaving us cold, dirty, and frustrated. When we reached out to the staff for assistance, there was no urgency to resolve the issue or even provide fresh towels. Additionally, basic housekeeping was lacking—our soap ran out and was never replenished. Despite all these issues, no compensation or apology was offered, only from Hassan eventhough we communicated this as well to his higher up, who did not take our review seriously. What made it more concerning was that other guests we dined with also complained about the excessively long waiting times at the restaurant, suggesting this was not an isolated incident. After nearly 20 years of travelling worldwide, this was by far the worst service we have encountered, even compared to hotels with fewer stars. We chose Kendwa Rocks for its reputation as a vibrant New Year’s destination, but it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience.
