Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront

We stayed for one night and will definitely be staying here for our next trip. If you love staying in old port and being able to just walk to all the local shops and restaurants then this is the place for you! Amazing rooms and super friendly staff!

Romantic birthday trip to Portland ME. We loved the Canopy Hilton for our weekend getaway. Restaurant served a great breakfast. Rooftop bar was very cool. Room was large and modern and clean and hotel itself has is in a great location for sightseeing in old port. My only small complaint is the bed. For the price, I think Hilton could furnish some new beds. Maybe I got an older room, but the bed was not the best I've slept in at a nice chain hotel.

The rooms were very clean and comfy. The bar and restaurant were great. The parking was very expensive so we ended up getting a parking pass and parking across the street.

We stay here every time we go to Portland.

In general, this was a nice, well-located facility. Most staff were friendly and helpful. However, water bottles available in room for refilling had dirt spots. And the hotel is not very well sound-proofed, which was obvious the first night of our stay. Also, we would have appreciated a little more info in room about the hotel and room amenities.

Hotel was very clean. Decor was nice. Valet was easy, though pricey. The only real amenity is the rooftop bar, which was closed for an event when I stayed. Unfortunately, that fact was not advertised, and we were told upon check in. I booked this hotel for that specifically, so it was annoying to not be told that it was closed. Also, I only booked this room two days before staying, so there was definitely time for the hotel to accurately disclose this. The room itself is spacious and bed is comfortable. But the functional aspects of the room are a little cheap. Limited furniture, so looks pretty bare. The "fridge drawer" is light duty and doesn't even keep water cold. Nowhere to hang a long dress or even pants without folding them. The shower size is ok, but the bathroom is tiny and oddly laid out. Overall the stay was fine, but nothing special. There are lots of hotel options in this area, all for similar cost, and most have better amenities, so although I wouldn't avoid this hotel, I probably will book elsewhere next time.
