This is a classic Japanese hot springs property with excellent hot springs water. You will get the full “ryokan” experience: Japanese tatami mat rooms, futons to sleep on, yukata to wear in and out of the bath, and even traditional wooden sandals to wear outside of the hotel. I loved the classic little touches - sweets and hot tea plus wet towels to greet us, hand written greetings from the hotel “kamisan” (owner) on our car each morning.
The negatives were: WiFi extremely slow and accessible only in the lobby, limited and very creative English signage, and per person vs. per room charges making it a little expensive for families.
