For the price, the hotel is fantastic and the restaurant is also fantastic! I was disappointed that we only spent one night there.
The rooms in the hotel were clean and comfortable. But you could tell that it was built in the 1980’s.
1) Entry was a key attached to a giant van plastic FOB. The lock was antique and you had to learn how to operate the lock.
2) too much furniture in the room. The space was decent size, but the furniture inside was comfortable, but took too much space and heavy. I kept having to move everything to sit down or reach something.
3) The step into the bathroom was unusually high. I stayed in a room with my elderly mother and she had difficulty entering and exiting the bathroom.
The hotel and the chef that we had for dinner was fantastic.
The hotel itself has a huge garden and two churches for marriage ceremonies. There were a large number of ball rooms to host at least 8 large wedding ceremonies at one time.
There was a showroom with stage and wedding salons, hair salons, and an onsen bath. The property was huge to explore. If you have mischievous kids, then the place would really cause problems for you if they decided to play hide and seek. Their own staff would likely have problems finding them.
There is a train station close by and a supermarket. Parking is free and large, but not nearly large enough if there is a large wedding ceremony.
The staff were all excellent, well mannered, dressed and polite, not stuffy or pretentious.
I would go again and again if I had a reason to travel in that area.
