I booked in the StowAway for three nights. Unfortunately there was no heating. The room was freezing. The property is not manned and therefore I contacted the hotel via phone. There was no answer. The following day, after an uncomfortable night stay, i contacted them again. Later that evening I returned to find a tiny heater in my room. They had not fixed the heating in the building and simply supplied a tiny heater. I contacted them again... and was informed 'there is nothing we can do'. I then went to check out to move to another hotel. Within 5 minutes of hanging up the phone. Another guest appeared in my room. The agent gave my door code to another guest who walked in to pick up the heater for their room!! Completely inappropriate and wrong in so many levels. Then post stay... it has been a battle to get the stay refunded. They simply couldn't care!

Giving 2 stars, 1 for location 1 for the comfort of the bed. The room had a very funky smell, as if there was water damage that was not properly treated, it smelled like mildew and the room itself just felt damp. Also, the AC didn’t work. We set it to 18°, after 24 hours the temperature of the room went up from 21° to 22°. There was also what appeared to be blood stains on the comforter. We contacted the property and they replaced the comforter but said the AC “was working”. We used the washer/dryer on the property and our clothes smelled and felt extremely dingy after. Not a great experience other than the location being great and the bed being comfortable.

Decent location. A bit shabby inside. Cupboards falling off. No glasses Poor check in. Did not receive any check in information. Had to e mail and try by App many many times until around 5 pm Eventually got check in information on App and SMS. But not on e mail as they said they had sent Very frustrating as I was tired and wanted to check In. Got a later check out by an hour eventually Which was kind of them but again. Communication super slow Feels a bit isolated inside as no reception and quite dark Great location and reasonably priced though

Absolutely the worst place you could ever attempt to stay. Please do not book this hotel. Ever. Utterly appalling service. The worst I’ve ever seen.

Had a great stay. Read the StowAway reviews and came prepared with earplugs for when I went to sleep. I couldn't access my emails on the way to the hotel when I arrived in London and was very quickly helped when I rang up to get the access codes. Super comfortable bed. Close to Waterloo Station, which was great. Would definitely stay again!

Great find in the heart of London. Lovely clean and comfortable everything you need for a stay in London whether it be a night or a week. The shower was amazing one of the best I had in a hotel. The train noise is an issue but it’s not a problem during the night and I took ear plugs so didn’t bother me at all.

Possibly the noisiest hotel ive ever stayed in. Nothing to do with guests but everything tondo with its proximity to Waterloo Station with its creaking, squeeky and rattling trains and tubes.

The fact that they are unmanned property should be made known up front. I had no idea and we had to sit in a coffee shop for two hours because our flight got in early. No lee-way for getting your room early or even storing your luggage. It would be nice for one person but not big enough for two that have suitcases. Had to put suitcases on the floor and step over them on the positive side it was very clean and close to stores and restaurants.

Room full of flies when I arrived. Not great sleep due to fire alarm at 2am train noise at 5am and no blackout blind/curtain only voile style so room wasn’t dark. Liked the design of room, clean apart from the flies - I expect the door had been left open when they were cleaning/preparing.

I thought the property did a well job. The property doesn't have a front desk. When you need anything I would send an email, and was able to get what ever I needed. My one issue would be the pillows. If you like soft pillows then you will be fine.

This place is a cheap hostel disguised as apartments. I have stayed in London close to 100 times for Business and pleasure and this is THE worst place I have stayed. I chose to stay here because I am working close to Waterloo and distance wise it was convenient. The place is so strange. You have to go through a bar full of hipsters to get to a door where you put the code in to get to the rooms. The rooms are cold, dark and LOUD. You can hear every passing train, every cackle from the bar, it’s horrendous. I put my iPods in and can still hear everything. Had I not had work close in the morning, I’d have gone home.

The room and bathroom are really nice and very clean. The heating wasn’t working and it was freezing. Plus the hotel is very close to the station so it was quite noisy.

Great location, fun atmosphere with bars and restaurants close by! Don’t go if you want complete silence, you can hear the trains & bar noise late into the evening.

Great location in south bank. Walkable to most well known tourist destinations across the river. Also it’s right beside Waterloo station which trains can be heard but it didn’t bother us. Check in was a bit clunky as we didn’t receive the door code by email and had to speak with a representative over intercom. They did resolve the issue and allowed us an early check in once the room was ready. Thank you However the room was clean but it wasn’t spotless. There were a few random stray hairs and dusty too shelves which was fine but could so easily be improved with a quick wipe and a throughout vacuum The space itself is very slick really well designed. We would definitely stay here again Thanks
