Penang is becoming more synonymous with street art. It all began in 2012 when artist Ernest Zacharevic created six murals in conjunction with the George Town Festival. For those looking for a site ample with history, Kek Lo Si Temple (Temple of Supreme Bliss) is a place that you’ve got to include on your list. This Buddhist temple is considered as the biggest in Malaysia, covering about 12 hectares of land. On the temple grounds, you can find a bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin, that stands at 36.57 meters tall. However, the main attraction of this temple is the Rama VI Pagoda that combines Burmese, Chinese, and Thai architecture.

Located well north of the island, Escape Theme Park is a water theme park nestled in the lush forest of Teluk Bahang. Here, you can find the world’s longest waterslide that runs through the greeneries of the area. This water slide stands at a whopping 1,111 meters long, beating out the record that was previously held by the Action Park in New Jersey, USA. Other notable rides popular among visitors are Mega Drop, Tubby Rapids, and Lazy River.

It is the first and only 3D glow-in-the-dark museum in the country, with interactive installations and impressive art pieces. The museum is made up of five areas with different themes such as Mysterious Tropical Pandora, Stars and Moonlight, The Infinity Room, My Toy Story, and Masterpiece of Edgar Muller.
