Schedule

The earliest trip departs at 05.15 AM, while the latest trip departs at 10.30 PM. There are more KTX Seoul to Busan schedules in the morning and afternoon than evening and night.

Fare

Because it's a bullet train, the KTX Seoul to Busan fare is more expensive than a regular train. The fare is around S$105,87 for economy class and S$148,41 for first class.

Route

KTX operates five different routes in 2025. To visit Busan, you have to use the KTX Gyeongbu Line. Aside from Busan, the line also takes you to 3 other big cities such as Suwon, Daejon, and Daegu. That's why it became the busiest line in South Korea.

To reach Busan, you can take the train to four different stations: Seoul, Yongsan, Cheongnyangni, and Yeongdeungpo Station.

2. SRT (Super Rapid Train)

3. ITX (Intercity Train eXpress) - Saemaul

If you compare it to KTX and SRT, ITX (Intercity Train eXpress) - Saemaul is definitely slower. The fastest train is around 4 hours 39 minutes.

ITX-Saemaul has fewer schedules, with around six departures in a day. The earliest departure is at 06.13 AM, while the latest is at 08.18 PM. The other four trains depart at 10.23 AM, 00.21 PM, 1.53 PM, and 3.39 PM.

Fare

There's only an economy class available at ITX-Saemaul. You can book a seat by paying around S$69,58 per ticket.

Route

ITX-Saemaul also uses the Gyeongbu Line. However, the train will stop in more cities along the way to Busan, from Seoul, Yeongdeungpo, Suwon, Pyeongtaek, Cheonan, Jochiwon, Daejeon, Yeongdong, Gimcheon, and Gumi. You can take the train from Seoul to Seoul Station.

4. Mugunghwa

The cheaper train to Busan is Mugunghwa. However, it will take longer to reach the city. The fastest trip is around 5 hours 19 minutes because the train will stop at more stations.

There are only eight departure schedules that can take you to Busan. The earliest departure time is at 05.54 AM. Meanwhile, the latest one is at 05.28 PM. Night trains are not available in this option.

Fare

Mugunghwa train fare is relatively cheaper than any other train option. You only need to pay around S$48,13 per ticket for an economy class seat. There's still no other class available for now.

Route

Mugunghwa uses a regular train route. You can take the train to Seoul Station. The train stops at multiple stations in big and small cities, including Yongsan Station and Cheongnyangni Station.
