Since its publication, Lewis Carroll’s children’s classic, “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland”, has enchanted the world with its flights of fancy. And now, it’s inspired the design of a resort in sunny Langkawi.
Tucked at the southernmost stretch of Pantai Tengah, the luxurious 4-star Dash Resort Langkawi is brimming with delightfully amusing decor, from a gigantic 9-meter-tall statue of a rabbit – the boutique hotel chain’s mascot – to Renaissance-style portraits of your favorite pop culture icons to oversized, over-the-top furniture.
Charming decorative touches and irresistible Instagram-worthy spots are hidden all around the resort, so you’ll definitely want to explore every corner – follow us down the rabbit hole as we show you around!
When you swing open your door, you’ll be greeted by a plush version of the resort’s teal mascot seated on the bed, complete with carrot and refreshing drink to cool down in the hot weather. The blank white canvas of the room is brought to life with the natural light streaming through the windows and cheerful pops of color here and there.
Rooms come with a wall-mounted flat-screen Smart TV with satellite channels for you to flip through at your leisure. In the closet, you’ll find a laptop-compatible room safe for you to keep your valuables and comfy custom-made robes that you’ll want to take home (and you can – check out Dashoppe located by the pool to buy Dash merch you can bring back with you!).
The contemporary bathroom is decked out in dark hues to contrast the bedroom, featuring a rain shower, specially-selected toiletries and soft terry cloth towels. There’s also a minibar, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. And if you need fast internet to upload your on-point staycation photos, worry not – there’s complimentary resort-wide Wi-Fi access available to guests.
During the day, the resort’s infinity swimming pool is a stunning turquoise mirror reflecting the clear blue skies, inviting you in for a swim. But as the sun approaches the horizon for its nightly slumber, you’ll be treated to a beautiful sunset over the Andaman Sea in brilliant shades of pink and orange. Pantai Tengah is just steps away from the pool, where you can take in the scenery from a cozy sun lounger.
If it’s peace and relaxation you’re looking for, Rabbit Hole Spa is the place to go, offering a full range of spa and massage treatments in an oasis of tranquillity. There’s also Flex Gym for the health-conscious gym bunnies, equipped with a full range of high-quality cardio and strength equipment.
In need of a sweet treat? Check out Mad Tart Patisserie, which has colorful macarons and chocolate and candy-topped donuts just waiting for you to bite into them. Luckily, they won’t make you suddenly grow to a tremendous size – unless you eat too many, of course. 😝
The resort’s restaurant, Mya Kitchen & Cocktails, serves up a yummy Western and Asian fusion menu with enviable views of both the pool and the beach. It’s also where guests take their breakfast. The à la carte breakfast menu offers a hodge-podge variety of international dishes – from a full English breakfast to avocado toast and smoothie bowls – that will turn you indecisive, as you’ll be tempted to order everything. Order whatever you like, but you’ll have to pay for the food you don’t finish, so try not to go overboard.
Ready to take the plunge? Then make a splash and book Dash Resort Langkawi for your next staycay!
Besides duty-free shopping (chocolates and perfumes and branded items, oh my!), the mystical island of Langkawi is filled with natural wonders and tourist attractions galore. If you’re short on ideas on what to do, here are a few of our favorites:

This is, without a doubt, at the top of the list of must-do touristy activities in Langkawi. Hailed as “The Longest Free Span Mono-Cable Car” in the Malaysia Book of Records, you’ll be taken up to 708 meters above sea level to the Top Station. The 360-degree view from Mount Machincang is enough to take your breath away. On a clear day, you can see the islands surrounding Langkawi, even as far as southern Thailand.
After that, you can opt to take a walk on the SkyBridge, recognized as “The Longest Free Span and Curved Bridge In The World”. Accessible from Top Station, you can either take a short hike down or take the SkyGlide. On the bridge, there are glass panels where you can look straight down below – coupled with the slight sway of the bridge at a strong wind, you’ll feel more than a little wobble in your knees.

Still feeling thirsty for adventure after experiencing the heights of Langkawi SkyCab and SkyBridge? Nearby, there’s Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, also known as Seven Wells Waterfalls. Its name refers to a series of seven ponds (or wells) from seven different falls in Mount Machincang.
Legend has it that fairies inhabit the area, which lend the waters healing properties. If you’re feeling up for it, you can hike up alongside the falls to the top, which takes around 45 minutes. Along the way, you may encounter a few of Langkawi’s wildlife species like macaques, squirrels and hornbills.

At Langkawi Wildlife Park, visitors can get up-close and personal with cute critters. Designed as a covered tropical garden, the five-acre animal sanctuary is home to over 2,500 exotic birds from 150 species, such as canaries, owls, eagles, toucans, hornbills and flamingos. The park also has a walk-in aviary with a 15-metre waterfall feature, a duty-free retail outlet and fun feeding sessions.

If you’re dropping by Dataran Lang for a photo op at Langkawi’s iconic eagle statue, don’t miss out on Taman Lagenda, located right next to it. Though sadly left somewhat neglected, you can still have a pleasant afternoon stroll around the lush greenery of the park, offering a picturesque view of Kuah waterfront and Dataran Lang.
What makes the park special, however, are the 17 sculptures scattered around the park that depict crucial scenes and characters from local folklore, such as battling giants, tragic maidens and mythical creatures. Unfortunately, many of the descriptions detailing the significance of the statues have since faded away, ravaged by weather and time. My favorite part was the long avenue lined with trees, creating a shaded tree tunnel that reminded me of Northern Ireland’s Dark Hedges, featured in Game of Thrones.

If you want to savor the sunset away from the crowds of tourists congregating at Cenang Beach, head to Hidden Beach House, nestled at the quieter Pantai Tengah. Take a seat at the deck facing the beach and sip on a drink to the beat of some chill tunes as you watch the last rays of sunlight.
Feeling peckish? Order burgers or tacos off the menu for a light meal. You’ll also be entertained by intrepid parasailers as they fly through the air above you before landing on the beach. If you want to secure the best seats in the house, be sure to call ahead and make a reservation.
