What is the TM6 Thailand Immigration Form?

The TM6 form, also known as the Thailand Immigration Arrival and Departure Card, is a document required for foreign travellers entering Thailand.

It collects essential details, including personal information, passport details, and accommodation details to assist with immigration control and security monitoring.

Before 2022, travellers arriving in Thailand had to complete a physical TM6 form before passing through immigration.

The form contained two sections; an arrival card to be submitted upon entry and a departure card, which was retained by the traveller and handed over when leaving the country.

However, Thailand suspended the TM6 form for air travellers in July 2022, and for land and sea travellers in April 2024 to ease congestion during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, the country is reintroducing this requirement through the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), aiming for a smoother paperless process.

Transition to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

From 1 May 2025, all foreign travellers including Singaporeans, must submit their arrival details digitally before entering Thailand.

This new system will replace the paper-based TM6 form and is designed to integrate with Thailand’s E-Visa system, disease screening, and tourist fee collection.

Key features of the TDAC system include:

Required for all foreign travellers entering by air, land, or sea.
It can be completed online before arrival or at self-service kiosks at immigration.
Speeds up immigration clearance by reducing paperwork.
Available in multiple languages, like English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese.

Temporary Suspension of the TM6 Form (2022–2025)

Thailand temporarily suspended the TM6 requirement to ease congestion at major entry points:

For air arrivals, the TM6 form was suspended from July 2022 onwards.
For land and sea arrivals, the requirement was suspended between 15 April 2024 and 30 April 2025.

While travellers entering Thailand in 2024 could enjoy simplified entry procedures, the digital TM6 (TDAC) will be compulsory for all foreign visitors from 1 May 2025.

How to Fill Out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card Online

Singaporean travellers must complete the TDAC before arriving in Thailand.

The form can be accessed via Thailand’s official immigration website or mobile application.

Travellers can also fill out the form upon arrival at self-service kiosks, but advance submission is recommended for a quicker entry process.

Information Required for TDAC Submission:

Personal details: Full name, nationality, gender, date of birth, and passport number.
Travel details: Flight number, vehicle number (for land or sea travel), port of entry, and purpose of visit.
Accommodation details: Address in Thailand (hotel, residence, or other accommodation).
Contact details: Mobile number and email address.

The TDAC system allows corrections if mistakes are made, and airport immigration officers will assist travellers who have not completed the form before arrival.

3. Departure Card

The departure card will be pre-filled based on the traveller’s arrival details.
The traveller will need to provide their departure flight number or vehicle details before leaving Thailand.
This card must be shown at immigration during departure.

The transition from paper-based TM6 forms to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is expected to bring multiple advantages:

Faster immigration clearance: Digital submissions will reduce queues and manual processing times at airports and land borders.
More efficient data collection: The integration with Thailand’s E-Visa system will make the immigration process smoother.
Environmentally friendly: Eliminates paper waste associated with printed TM6 forms.
Better security and tracking: Helps Thai authorities monitor visitor trends and security risks more effectively.
Seamless integration with tourism and health measures: The TDAC will assist in monitoring visitor entry and any required health screenings.

So, with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) becoming mandatory from 1 May 2025, Singaporean travellers should be prepared for this change.

Completing the form online before arrival will ensure a smooth immigration experience.

The shift to a digital system reflects Thailand’s commitment to modernising its entry procedures, improving efficiency, and enhancing security for tourists.

For those who forget to submit the TDAC before arrival, self-service kiosks and immigration officers will be available to assist at entry points.

As Thailand moves towards a digital-first approach, the TDAC system is expected to enhance the overall travel experience for visitors entering the country.
