Malaysian hotel chains Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Sentral and Hotel 99 were awarded “Best International Partner in Malaysia” at the Traveloka Hotel Awards 2018 held recently in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Organized for the second year, the Traveloka Hotel Awards were created to give appreciation to Traveloka hotel partners. The awards were conducted at ICE BSD City, where Traveloka announced 239 winners from its hotel partners across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The event was also enlivened by the presence of Indonesian diva, Krisdayanti.
"Through this event, we want to give appreciation to hotel partners in Indonesia and Southeast Asia for the great performance that has been done throughout 2017. Moreover, in recent years, we have seen a lot of hotels that get positive reviews from customers, as well as hotels which improves services and facilities to be able to get positive reviews from customers. In the future, we also hope this will motivate other hotel partners to improve their services so that they can also get positive reviews from customers,” said Traveloka’s General Manager of Accommodations, John Safenson.
The award was given to 224 hotels in 11 areas with the highest tourism activity in Indonesia, which were divided into three hotel classes, namely Value, Premium, and Prestige. For the first time, Traveloka also gave out awards to international hotel partners, which comprised 15 hotels in Southeast Asia from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
Traveloka Country Market Manager for Malaysia, Angelica Chan, said: “Congratulations to Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Sentral and Hotel 99, which were selected out of all our hotel partners in Malaysia. Their hotels have proven to be popular among our customers and their support of the partnership with Traveloka has been invaluable.”
“Traveloka has such a diverse range of accommodations that can cover various needs and budgets, and based on the bookings made through the platform, we’re happy to see that Malaysians are making the most of it by booking across 3-star to 5-star hotels,” she added.
In addition to being acknowledged as the top hotels in Traveloka’s inventory, Traveloka will also provide special labels to Traveloka Hotel Awards winners, which customers can see directly in the Traveloka App when they view the hotel. This label will help add prestige and credibility to the hotel, while customers will also have a wide range of trusted hotels to choose from.
Chan also said that Traveloka Malaysia hopes to strengthen its relationship with local hotel partners by organizing its own Traveloka Hotel Awards sometime in the near future. “We are ready to recognize our hotel partners here in Malaysia and hope to organise our own awards soon,” she hinted.
