We had to clean most surfaces as were grimy with food spills/crumbs and greasy. Utensils, crockery had to be washed eg. Cups had ‘tide’ marks, crumbs on chairs, cotton buds under sofa cushions, bin lid filthy. If the room was properly cleaned we would have rated it higher but as a positive the bed was comfortable.

After searching for hotels in Gladstone we chose Highpoint for the pool which looked nice and big on the website, and for onsite restaurant. Upon arrival we went to the pool and found it to be green, filthy dirty full of hoses and unusable. We were very upset as it was extreme heat conditions. We explained we had chosen this hotel because of the advertised pool facility and restaurant. Both of which were not usable. The receptionist was very understanding and agreed that it was unsatisfactory and would be refunded. We then had to search for another hotel and walk to find it. THE HOTEL NOW IS CHARGING US FOR ONE NIGHT STAY! Refusing to refund, ignoring our messages.

The cooktop was very dirty and not cleaned. And the floor and lounge were disgusting. My clothes, feet and socks were all black and stained from walking around on the filthy carpet and sitting on the couch.

Booked for 4 and only had a queen and a single and 2 towels, advised them of error and they made up the sofa bed which was terrible and bought 1 extra towel making 3 in total.
Hot water system was way too small for 4 and ran out all the time.
Power tripped when running the washer and dryer at the same time.
Had to park on the street as not enough parks

It was centrally located the parking was convenient and the staff where welcoming but we had a room facing Coondoon St and the noise from cars going down the street was very loud and the herd of elephant's above us didnt help.

The staff on reception were very helpful. Unfortunately the room itself smelt very musty. I understand it is not a new building however it definitely needs either a proper carpet clean or replacement. A but much to expect this to be acceptable.

The beds were very comfy and the staff helpful. I found the water pressure to be very poor and the kitchen was not very practical (eg no easily accessible power point to plug the kettle or microwave in)

Not so good and they knew it.
We booked for a family of 4 and in the room was a double & single. The reception told us to unfold the sofa. It was broken but once we finally opened it, it was so uncomfortable for our child he decided to sleep on the floor.
The whole place is tired and the maintenance person needs to show some love in his work or find a new job
