Sovereign Hill Hotel

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and 2 teenagers. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our King size bed was comfortable but there were bunks for our kids that weren’t so comfortable, maybe I should have asked for 2 single beds. Found the location great with access to Sovereign hill via a separate entrance, so can come and go during the day you visit Sovereign Hill. There is an option to book a Continental breakfast which we had every morning that we were very impressed with. We stayed in the colonial room .

Looks very tired. We were told property is undergoing upgrade. It needs it! Brick paths uneven, garden areas in poor shape and lawn areas look like paddocks

Great place to visit with children. The breakfast was fresh and the coffee was lovely. Informative and kind staff.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay. The staff were very helpful and kind. To the security guard that checked us in after hours, to the receptionists (dealt with 3), to the breakfast staff and chef! We have dietary requirements and they went above and beyond for us. Very appreciative. The room was very very comfortable. Loved it! Will return!

Quiet place. Direct entry to Sovereign Hill. Breakfast is excellent.

Beautiful and historical site. The service is great, reasonably priced, great buffet option. We stayed 2 nights with kids. Had to walk around the site to reach sovereign hill when there was a door available for the guests like me but apparently my card was not given the access although we have valid tickets to the sites. Perhaps I need to request but they could ask us. The facilities inside the room are practicable but old.i have to hold the kettle to make coffee. The king bed made of two singles and due for replacement. When they cleaned the room it was half done the top bunk bed was not done.

Good clean room. We booked our accommodation late but were very happy to have breakfast included.

Cheap and convenient for somewhere to just sleep after a local music festival. Very basic room if that’s all you need for the night/s.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, spacious and bed really comfortable . The bathroom basin had a crack through it which was a shame but this is an old property and just needs some love. The courtyard off our room had tall weeds and broken pickets on the fence which was disappointing it would have been nice to sit out there and enjoy the view . Having said that it was really comfortable, well located and we would stay again.

Access to sovereign hill is just a short walk away. Relatively quiet grounds with private parking. Room itself was small and not worth the money. It's in dire need of a renovation. The furniture desperately needs replacing. The tables were scratched and the chairs were stained. Bathroom was relatively clean.

The location was perfect and the hotel is cute and quaint with everything we needed. Would stay there again!

Basic but clean and comfortable and a very short walk to Sovereign Hill. Perfect for those also attending the winter wonderlights.

Location, perfect when your visiting sovereign hill. Your able to go to your room rest & go back to sovereign hill. Great atmosphere

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Only problem was paid extra for a spa in room and it wasn’t working.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The Governor's room we stayed in well facilitated. Unfortunately, we ould not get the split system to work,which proved not much of an issue as the bed was worm and cosy. The overhead light fixture needing a goo dusting. I would recommend this accomodation.

My family have stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed our stay. Where our rooms where this time was completely different where we've been any other time. It was a bit of a walk to the accommodation from the car and we had to use quite a few stairs. I said on arrival this wasn't ideal as I had a disability but wasn't offered any change. The young man was kind and showed on a map where to go and said it wasn't far, wasn't too many steps etc but...it was for me. The property website wasn't available and we had to go through Wotif so keep in mind to always put you need a ground floor if you need. It made it very difficult for me. Also, breakfast is only available on school holidays now. That was a little disappointing.
