I had high expectations for Hostel Antonieta, but unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. While the staff was kind of friendly, I found that I had to ask for everything—towels, basic amenities, and even assistance with the air conditioning, which was not working. The shared bathrooms were not cleaned even though we were clearly the only guests, and the shower walls - which are made of some kind of paper- were torn apart. The evening staff, though polite, seemed completely unprepared, as if it was their first day with no proper training. Breakfast was another letdown. Given the price, I expected something decent, but it felt more like an afterthought. We could have had a much better meal outside for half the cost. Overall, the hostel presents itself as something it's clearly not, and for the price, I expected better. A few improvements could make a big difference, but as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I arrived at 5am. They opened me the door, and offered me a bed to sleep (my check in was only day after at 2pm). I had a wonderful breakfast and felt really welcomed. The Hostel has everything we need. It’s a beautiful historical building rebuilt. Has a wonderful Caffe/ Restaurant with great food and nice room to spend a day, it’s close to all the tourist attractions and in a safe area and the staff it’s 5 stars. I had the chance to meet the owner as well and she is the kind of person who love to receive and put love in every single detail. She knows a lot about the Para State and her city and is the best person to tell you what to visit around. I loved this place and the city of Belem, the most authentic Brazilian people and culture, a gem in the middle of Amazonian Jungle.

TERRIBLE! Very rude staff. Clerk didn’t understand my accent and thought I insulted her in English (which she clearly doesn’t speak). She “didn’t want to talk to me anymore” and asked me to leave after I paid 3 days. Awful, immature, unprofessional! Rude with a bad attitude. While I was there the bathroom was disgusting. The main area is clean, but remember staff can turn on you any second here and leave you in a dangerous situation. Not worth the risk.

Great hostel. Cute, clean, spacious, comfortable beds. The cafe down there is nice and the breakfast was really tasty.

A equipe foi super atenciosa e educada, realmente um ponto positivo. Mas o quarto deixou muito a desejar. Era bem diferente das fotos, e o banheiro estava sujo, com restos de sabonete usado e claramente não tinha sido limpo antes da minha hospedagem. A cama era desconfortável, os lençóis tinham um cheiro ruim e pareciam bem antigos. Além disso, tinha muita teia de aranha espalhada pelo quarto e banheiro. A porta do quarto só abria até a metade, o que foi bem incômodo. O ar-condicionado também foi um problema. Escolhi a suíte esperando que funcionasse o dia todo, mas ele não gelava. Quando avisei na recepção, um técnico veio e disse que o aparelho estava muito sujo. Depois disso, ninguém fez nada e o problema continuou. Pra conseguir dormir, precisei pegar algumas almofadas da área comum porque o colchão era muito duro. Espero que resolvam essas questões, porque a estrutura realmente precisa melhorar.
