Spacious and clean, quiet too

The best we had since the pandemic! The hotel is very clean. We especially liked our house cleaning staff Ms Gloria (Yuan) Zhang who was very professional and worked diligently！

The service was generally pretty good. Most staff spoke some some level of English and they definitely made an effort to be helpful. I was in Shanghai for a few days to visit my son who was doing a semester abroad at Fudan University. You will not find a more convenient place to stay if you happen to have business at the university. You are also within reasonable walking distance of the Shanghai metro (maybe 10 or 15 minutes walking). The rooms are clean and pretty well appointed. For the price, I think the hotel is a very good value/

A great hotel.

Staffers are extremely helpful and responsive. Room was tidy and clean. Improvements: No shaver, no toothbrush in the room - although delivery was quick. However, staff did not state if they are free.

Lovely hotel and great service

Better than expected from a quality and room size perspective

About 18 deg C at night during my stay. Comfort temp should be around 24 deg C. Cooling air-con only.

The hotel is located among a few universities and makes sense for any stay that might associate with such businesses. Reception was a breeze and overall stay was pleasant, except maybe the breakfast selection can be even more fancier.

I stayed here twice in one week in the second stay was exceptional. they will come to me and upgraded me to a larger room. The hotel is very clean and the staff is kind.

There was no climate control in the room. Room was hot and dry.

Only one complaint: mattress was not as good as other hotels of this class.

Staff was pleasant and efficient. Desk staff spoke English very well. No issues came up during the stay.

Nice hotel near University

We loved our five days in a Shanghai and loved this hotel. The front desk was great at checkin and offered us a very quite room on the south side of the building. Our room with a king size bed was spacious and well maintained. The bathroom was especially good with a wonderful corner shower a separate tub and great towels. Our only challenge was that the AC was not yet on for the season when we checked in. Upon request the front desk provided a fan and the problem was solved. The last two nights of our stay the AC was on and worked well. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is great. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet twice, the dinner menu one night and the dinner buffet one night. The closest restaurants are a 15 - 20 minute walk from the hotel so the restaurant is important. Service was great and prices were very reasonable. The food was great! Best of all was the bar on the second floor. Young bartender, Jason, was eager to serve us and had great fun practicing his English with us. He made our visits to the bar great fun and very relaxing. We were a group of six on a great China adventure and this hotel made our stay in Shanghai especially memorable. When we return to Shanghai we would be very happy to return to this hotel!

This hotel is ideally located adjacent to Fudan main campus, we stayed for a week while visiting our daughter studying there. Is an upscale convention type hotel. Pleasant staff, helpful concierge, taxis always available, 2 min to campus and about 10--15 min walk to nearest metro. Cabs are really cheap in Shanghai. Room big, very clean. Tap water not drinkable but water bottles provided. Huge breakfast buffet at the restaurant. Only real complaint was that the room was quite stuffy at night and the climate control didn't appear to control anything. Enjoyed our stay

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. I requested nonsmoking room, still our room smelled musty. After switching to a different room, it still smelled unpleasant and unfresh. Air condition is weak during summer time. Hotel does not go out of its way to make customers happy, rather very bureaucratic. When I needed some coffee creamer (not the powder kind ), the receptionist refused. I even went to the breakfast area to get some, and was told to purchase the milk since I don't have breakfast voucher, give me a break! There is one Tennis Court at the Hotel. No one seems using it, however when I want to use it, I was told it required 24 hour advanced notice. After some negotiating, we finally get to use the court, but to our dismay, the Court is of poor quality, the paint wears off immediately. Soon the tennis ball wears the same color as the court. Hotel definitely doesn't deserve a 5 Star status, the room rates are overpriced. I will not stay in this Hotel again.
