A basic no frills stay while work is carried out to update the hotel. Score reflects need to modernise rooms and lack of staff presence. This does exactly what you need though for a good price.

The check in was the start of the experience, self check in was far from a good start. Its bad enough self service in a supermarket, this is a hotel. The room was clean and recently refurbished to a good standard. I went down for dinner, and staff wise it seemed like the mary celeste. Eventually i was served, the drinks for a hotel were reasonably priced and tasted good. The food menu is limited and far from what I expect from a hotel restaurant, but it did suffice. Unfortunately my evening dragged out to around midnight due to the people in the next room being less than considerate. But the noise did eventually subdue. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style and to be fair it was good. I stayed here a couple of years ago and returned because it had been good. I seriously doubt if I'll be returning anytime soon. It was a very mixed experience unfortunately the bad out weights the good

Pretty much perfection for an overnight stay. Easy check in with a wonderful executive room which provided more than enough space to do some admin work. The lady on reception opened up the gym area for me to work out and the staff could not be nicer. To get cleaned up, there was an amazing power shower. The large comfy bed afforded a great night's sleep and this was compounded by a fantastic breakfast, made to order, which arrived in double quick time but everything was cooked perfectly and got the day off to the best start. They also provide free EV charging for hotel guests.

we looked forward to our overnight stay at Best Western to meet up with an old friend, unfortunately it was a big let down. The room was reasonable but the bathroom had the bath panel hanging off and not sealed at all and a cobweb covered the air vent. I would like to think it was only our room but the same complaint was found in our friends room. Having stayed in Best Western hotels all over the world this has to be the worst we have seen. Full marks to the staff who tried there best with the limited number they had

Was disappointed as I booked this hotel due to it stating that there was a pool/ spa area, as needed some relaxation. After booking I received an email confirmation from the hotel for which it stated the “pool was not open”. Due to booking day before i was then unable to cancel my reservation and book an alternative hotel that did have these facilities. On arrival I went to my room which i had booked a superior room to find the carpet in a bad condition and also due to being a non smoking hotel there was a filter wrapper left behind/ poking out from bedside cabinet.

Superior room booked but it was far from it, paint over spray on door handles, hinges, skirting boards, but the worst of all was the room was COLD, asked receptionist if the heating can be looked at she said ‘it comes on at 6pm’ it was already on in the room just a lack of heat coming out of the radiator. Breakfast was nice although only just warm , but staff in the room were RUDE & unwelcoming. Will I revisit the hotel again? I THINK NOT!

Overall a pleasant experience. Staff were super helpful, particularly Lyn who looked after us during both mornings for breakfast. Check in was very easy and efficient, loved that it’s self service. Rooms are a little dated but was clean and spacious. We booked a double room and a family room and both rooms were equally pleasant.

The heating was off the whole time. It was freezing

A spa hotel with no spa / pool.....not as advertised on hotels.com. But a note on the door saying it'll be really nice in the future! after you've booked and paid. also nothing in the area, you'll need to drive to go anywhere. really run down hotel, not a 4 star.. its a 2 at best and i had the executive room! the whole place smells funky and a bit sticky...

The communal areas of the hotel were sad and lacked ambience. There were several areas that had rain dripping into buckets.

The hotel was rather quiet and under-used but as there was substantial renovation going on with the gym and spa/pool facilities this was understandable. The hotel staff were among the friendliest I've come across in a long time, nothing was too much for them in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. My wife and I were seriously impressed.

I really like this hotel and will continue to go back. It has everything I could want. The staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel itself is in a very quiet location. Above all, its one of the least expensive hotels in the area.

On what is likely to have been the coldest night of the winter to date, very annoying to find the heating was not working, and although a small heater was provided it was pretty ineffective, plus the duvet I don't think was a winter tog - the swimming pool was not an option either as that was closed - the food was ok though!

Rude staff, dated hotel and uncomfortable and cold room.

Bar & dining options need to be more flexible
