Novotel London Excel

Our first choice when visiting London. A great hotel with a fabulous terrace for a coffee or a cocktail, soaking up the sun. Easy access to the city and great to pop over to the O2 on the cable car for dinner. Lovely meal in the restaurant one night with attentive service from Klea.

Overall was a good base for what we were in London for. Right by the venue. However the beds were tremendously hard. Was like sleeping on a log.

Run down bedroom. Mouldy shower. Toilet in a tiny separate room from the bathroom. Too small and claustrophobic. Fridge light (with glass front) kept coming on in the night so i had to unplug it. Breakfast hidiously expensive for average food.

there is an airport near this hotel. you can hear the engine sound around 7ish in the morning. that's definitely something to consider for light sleepers

This hotel is so close to ExCel! So very convenient. The breakfast buffet is very good too. One thing that could be improved is the outlet situation--it was very difficult and inconvenient to charge devices.

Overall satisfied, the staff managed to surprise us with a free drink and a gift in the room as it was my Birthday weekend. The only issue was smell in the actual toilet.

The hotel staff were friendly, the room was lovely, the location was easy to get to on the Elizabeth line and it’s just a 2 minute walk to the London Excel centre.

The room was far too hot and air con doesnt work

The aircon wasn’t working in our room and it was very hot. Although the room was clean, it was definitely tired. Lots of areas of damaged paint, damage to some of the bathroom fittings (didn’t affect use but didn’t look great). Pillows had seem better days and sofa bed cushions were stained. However the staff were very friendly and the hotel location is excellent for the excel.

Always a good stay/ location for the horse show. Breakfast good choice but need more drinks machines or separate hot water for tea as 2 machines not enough for volume of customers. Reception toilets always smell stale though so please consider an air freshener with regular bursts !!

Rooms great, spacious and clean

Our room was soo nice on the 9th floor

The accommodation was in a perfect location for London Excel with excellent public transportation getting there. My room was comfortable and quiet. The only 2 main problems were in the bathroom. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain which was a bit gross. The shower head was impossible to tilt down therefore the water shot out horizontally, this was awkward.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the condition of the executive room I was assigned during my recent stay at your hotel. I had high expectations based on the price and the room type I booked, but unfortunately, my experience was far below these expectations. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that the room had not been properly cleaned. The bed was untidy, and the carpet was visibly dirty. The mirrors were smeared and had clearly not been cleaned. Most concerning were the pillowcases, which had visible red/brown stains on them — an unacceptable condition. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was not functioning properly. Despite having the AC running for over five hours straight, the room remained uncomfortably hot, making it difficult to relax or sleep. This, combined with the other cleanliness issues, made my stay much less pleasant than anticipated. I had specifically booked an executive room, expecting a certain level of comfort and quality, including a nice view and a balcony. However, there was no balcony, and the view from the room was disappointing, which further detracted from my experience. Given the poor state of the room, the non-functioning AC, and the discrepancies between what was promised and what was delivered, I feel that the standards of cleanliness and service were far below what should be expected from a hotel of your reputation. I kindly request that you address this matter , whether through a partial refund, compensation.

Loved the location

A well serviced hotel. our room was spacious and well equipped with everything one needs. However the room was too hot and the air condition wasn't working. It had a car park attached but the parking fee was to high (£25).

It was decent hotel i stayed over last weekend but it was lack of ventilation is terrible and air conditioning doesnt exist in my hotel executive room was not good i couldnt even breathe and it was too hot to sleep overnight

Lovely location and great service. There were a couple of things we needed and were sorted as soon as we asked.

Hotel smelled lovely. Most of the people working reception was kind and helpful... Unfortunately I had to ask twice for my shower to be looked at because it did not drain well most of my stay. Found discarded plastic under the sofa bed. Our room had no drinking water, shower caps or even footwear like the other rooms. I loved the location but there can be improvements in service.

From the start to finish can’t fault anything. We arrived earlier than check in but was able to leave our bags and explore London before coming back. Slept like a log and the breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be returning here again very soon. Highly recommended, friendly and very accommodating staff. Thank you
