Amazing friendly staff, clean dog friendly room. Great bar/restaurant with free breakfast. Brought the dog treats and a sausage. Would go back, great location if going to bamburgh castle.

Ok place were you can get an evening meal and your cooked breakfast is included in the price of the room A nice touch and i appreciated that.

We needed an overnight to get to Scotland. It was perfect for our needs. 24 hr cafe food is excellent.

The accommodation was value for money, staff well above average and the chef excellent courteous. The ch.

Second time we have stayed here. Excellent for a stop off on way to Scotland. Great room, excellent view of Bamburgh castle in the distance. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Staff are very nice and work super hard. We will be back again on our next trip. Highly recommend. Thank you 😊

The back road is a worm hole in space time connecting Bebbanberg with Paris, Texas. Purdy Lodge is lying low and as you crackle along the gravel through the truck-stop it would be no surprise to see Travis squinting into the low winter sun as he shambles past the all night gas station into the drug store to get some ice. Purdy has it sussed. Rooms are for sleeping so they are full of bed. The window looks out over freshly stubbled fields at a pink and blue horizon. The bar is flanked by tall stools lined up to ease the drinking load. The grill does what it says to perfection with steak that would honour a Texas diner in taste if not size. Thoughtfully, the TV tells you that its antenna is pointing the wrong way but you’ve come here to get away - so fire up the Wii-fi. Breakfast is ample fuel for the day and you can slide straight on to the A19 which has been conveniently laid just outside the front door. Purdy Lodge is a Northumberland gem.

I used it as a quick one-night stopover en route to Edinburgh. On the A1 so nice and easy. Plenty of parking. Clean well equipped room and bathroom. Perfect for my needs and great value too.

2nd visit - and would come back again if I ever visited the area

So happy they accept dogs which made our lives much easier.

Staff excellent and very friendly

The staff are the absolute stars of this hotel. Helpful, accommodating and constantly cheerful and welcoming.

Location was excellent for accessing the many sites in the area, Bamburgh, Farne Islands etc. Being on the main road made it a bit noisy and busy but would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for two nights. Hotel is convenient for travel to the borders. Food is always good quality and locally sourced. Fish and chips are great. The bedrooms need updating as the mattress and pillows are of a poor standard.

Super place to stay. We just had overnight: wish it could have been longer. Would stay again.
