Travelodge Gatwick Airport Central

No fridge no shampoo.

When we first arrived, the first room we were given wasn't cleaned well, so we were moved to another room 2 floors up. That one was clean, the only issue we were having is that we had no way to turn on the airconditioning and were too tired to go and ask at the reception for the night. So when you go into this hotel, you'll be greeted by polite and professional reception staff. You'll definitely enjoy your night here as the room's pretty spacious. Going downstairs to their restaurant we enjoyed the pizza & pepsi we ordered which was decently priced.

booked into an occupied room (eventually this came out), dealt with by checking my booking-denial of my booking, Expedia chat helped out- Expedia rang, sent to same occupied room, another room found after I mentioned I was flying to Australia the next day and I was upgraded. A bit of an unnecessary run around. I think the hotel was overbooked for the type of booking, I was willing t0 pay to be upgraded but the reception staff just said they were booked out, a manager was more helpful and the phone call from Expedia helped.

Couldnt open windows so no ventilation after showering which then caused my partner to have an asthma attack, the shower was very low pressure and water temperature was poor. The room was very clean.

Hotel was close proximity to Gatwick airport.

Stayed one night with very early start so limited experience of hotel but would happily stay again

Well to be honest I only stayed, and that probs ly goes for everyone else too, because of its proximity to Gatwick Airport for an early morning flight!

The shuttle service is great

Exactly what it says, clean safe lodging close to gatwick. Beds were a bit mediocre, but fine. The non-smoking floors still mildly smell of cigarettes for anyone with sensitivities

No hair dryer. Half empty room. Dirty a/c.

The service in the restaurant is slow and they forgot our drinks order. The burger is really not good-avoid it!

Clean and big room very comfortable. Nice breakfast. Easy access to airport by shuttle.

The curry I had for dinner was really top class.

The hotel had several shortcomings during our stay. Firstly, they charged for internet access. There was no fridge in the room, and the air conditioning unit made such a loud noise that we had to turn it off. Additionally, the room lacked any furniture other than the bed. The television was very small, and only one towel was provided for two guests. The hot water barely worked, and there was no explanation given about the availability of a shuttle service to the airport, which also came at an additional cost. Being from Canada, I am accustomed to these amenities being complimentary.

30 minutes of free wifi? Who doesn't offer free wifi these days when you're staying with them?! No phone in the room? Couldn't ring to let them know the heating/a/c unit on the wall that had to be turned on as the room was freezing, was so loud. Isn't a phone mandatory? Safety requirement? Breakfast was awful.... Closeness to the airport was convenient, but not even a complimentary shuttle. Overall, worst of the 5 hotels we stayed at during our 2 week holiday and would not recommend.

Children’s size single beds were too small and uncomfortable

FREE WIFI IS NOT FREE!? ITS 3POUND Hotel did not leave info regarding transfer from Airport they offer... a Taxi driver asked us why we called him and not use their shuttle. Long day of travelling from Canada... excited to shower after the plane rides... get to hotel and NO SHAMPOO OR SOAP. dispenser was empty. Went to front desk and they gave us a plastic cup of green liquid.... turns out it was a foam dish soap!? Smelt like cleaning fluid. Dissapointing.

Great breakfast, comfy beds

Overall I enjoyed my 3 night stay. Breakfast was included and there were sufficient options. However, the quality of some items were inconsistent. Whilst the room was comfortable, the carpet needs cleaning and a little more attention to cleaning bathroom doors and other overlooked surfaces. I was disappointed that there was no mini fridge in the room.
