Hotel Eisenhut

Fantastic old properly but with modern features. Some old hotels show signs of age but the owners of the Eisenhut have made sure that things are clean and new without spoiling the charm of a century’s old building . Brilliant location , very attentive staff. No cons at all with the hotel, but for info don’t follow set nav when Christmas markets are on , all surrounding roads around the hotel are blocked off . So it may be better asking for the car park location and parking first as this is outside of the no car zone and easily accessible.

The location is excellent. Every room is different but keeps the style. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is very clean.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Rothenburg, literally next door to the famous Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas store and across the street from the center of town/the Christmas Market. We stayed in the guest house/hotel across from the main hotel. Our room felt like an apartment - huge hallway/entryway, separate door to bedroom. Room is definitely built a long time ago, which is the charm of this city. Radiator in hallway heats room effectively. Only negative to speak of is the weak power of the hairdryer. Incredible breakfast and very kind staff. Highly recommend!!

Great hotel in the middle of Rothenburg. Parking is limited, but there is public parking just outside of the walled city you can use. It is about a 10 minute walk to the hotel from the parking. Room was very clean and spacious, and breakfast was great every morning. Great spot!

Extraordinarily clean and comfortable with a first rate and extremely attentive staff. This was our third time in Rothenburg but our first time at the Hotel Eisenhut. When we return to Rothenburg, and we will; we’ll be sure to stay at this hotel.

Hotel has historic charm and in a great location, almost next door to Kathe Wohlfart shop. We stayed in the annex, which had sofa & chairs in the entry room so we could sit and visit with friends. Plan to stay there again in May.

Always wanted to stay here from the first time I saw it years ago. Perfect location, beautiful building. Love the old building. As a solo traveler however, my room was very small and the single bed was extremely narrow. Would recommend upsizing if you want a better night’s sleep. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Loved that parking was available; even though it was not onsite, it was close enough and covered.

Beds were awful. I was told I would had parking and didn't, I was also told I had a reservation for dinner and didn't. I even made sure after I found out about the parking that I had a reservation for dinner and still didn't.

Loved this quaint hotel in the most perfect location! The ladies at the front desk were wonderful, helping to secure dinner reservations and calling for taxis when needed. Breakfast was good with ample choices and friendly help.

Second time of staying and still excellent. Great location, great staff, great restaurant and excellent room again. Parking not on site but good enough for us in a town where parking is at a premium.

Gorgeous hotel, helpful staff, perfect location. Onsite restaurant was amazing and service there was wonderful. Highly recommend. Would return any time.

This hotel was great. Friendly staff, perfect location. The only challenge we had was finding the hotel parking since some of the side roads were closed due to the markets. The dinner was grest as well. Definitely stay here!

Close to all you want to see/do in Rothenburg. 10-15 min walk to the train station. Rooms are older and bathrooms very European (bidet’s and shower heads without an actual shower head mount so water goes everywhere). But everything was very clean and staff were helpful.

This was a unique stay because, honestly, how often do you get the chance to stay in a 600-year-old hotel? While the room was nice, the bathroom felt very outdated, as did other parts of the hotel, which could benefit from some sprucing up—particularly when it came to features like the toilets, which seemed stuck in the 1980s. The staff seemed nice, but their attentiveness left much to be desired. For example, upon check-in, I asked whether the hotel provided laundry services. I had to repeat myself three times to the front desk person, who appeared very confused by the question. Ultimately, she said they didn’t offer laundry services, which we later discovered was incorrect. In the room, we saw a small poster on the wall stating that the hotel indeed offers four-hour express laundry services. In the evening, we spent time in the piano bar area. It took 30 minutes just to order a drink, and no one stopped by afterward for the entire duration of our visit. I’m not sure where all the staff disappeared to, but they certainly weren’t attending to the bar clientele. Lastly, parking! Navigating the small streets was extremely confusing. My advice to the hotel is to communicate the parking situation clearly to guests ahead of time. As it turns out, there is no hotel parking available, and guests need to park outside the town gates. This crucial information should have been shared in advance to save guests from unnecessary frustration.

Beautifully updated rooms with old world charm. View was fantastic! Everything you could hope for in a building built hundreds of years ago.
