The staff was excellent. They accommodated us with special requests and seemed to be intent on offering pleasant service. The hotel location was an easy walk to a main pedestrian street with plenty of cafes and restaurants and shopping. The room was clean. And the (paid) breakfast was excellent.

The staff was really friendly. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed it being so close to the train station and the pedestrian zone. One of the elevators was broken and we were there with a large group so that was a tiny bit unpleasant.

Nothing wrong with the property. Stayed here to see a football match in Gelsenkirchen. Very close to main train station, which is why we stayed there. As with most train stations, the surrounding area was so-so. Was in late June and weather was warm and there was no air conditioning. There was a window that opened but it was noisy outside from traffic. Again, though, not a bad place--we paid more than usual because of the football tournament but at the normal price it would be fine.

Close to train station for the euro cup match. Would have preferred ac in the room. We had to keep the window open and it was noisy. Ambulances, traffic, etc…

Front desk staff cheerfully relocated me to a room on another floor when my room became uninhabitable because of cigarette smoke from another room (it's a non-smoking hotel). Hotel location couldn't be more convenient to the main train station. The operations won't dazzle you with their efficiency (some harmless and readily corrected missteps involved things like not where it should be and miscoded keycards), but it the hotel is in good condition, and the included breakfast isa a plus.
