Good location just next to Hofbrahaus and Hard Rock Cafe. Within easy walking distance to Marienplatz and Viktualien Markt. Complimentary drinks in the fridge but not auto in topping them up, plus may only top up non-alcohol types

The desk service was exceptional and the restaurant was convenient for a quick breakfast.

Expedia VIP member, should have gotten a room upgrade, especially since our room's heater did not work and we slept in 62 degree cold. We all got a cold. Second night, they brought us a small space heater which helped. Sauna is awesome and breakfast is good. Best to stay during low season.

This hotel was top notch, top notch staff, top notch breakfast food. Excellent service and fantastic location, absolutely recommend!

Great location for Old Town Munich.

Great hotel in a great area.

The location cannot be Beate for this classic downtown Munich property. The newly renovated sauna area has wonderful night view and was so enjoyable after a long day of touring. They were able to park our rental car in a garage for a fee. The room is dated and small, but the bathroom was renovated and modern. Staff could not have been better, very accommodating and all spoke English. It was worth the price for the convenience.

During a family trip to Germany we stayed at the Platzl twice while transiting through Munich. The location is exceptional. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and Marienplatz. We chose the hotel on friend's recommendation and proximity to the Christmas markets. Our first weekend we had a twin standard room. The room was clean, comfortable, small and minimal amenities. The street noise from the bars and restaurants during holiday season was intolerable and on our 2nd night didn't quiet down till 3am. On checkout I spoke with the front desk about my concern for when we returned in one week. The front desk were staff kind, responsive and assured me we would be addressed when we returned. I chose not to cancel and rebook eleswhere and I am so glad we didn't. Our return visit was in a twin suite on a quieter side of the hotel. The room had many extras including pillow selection service, Nespresso coffee maker and it was signficantly quieter. The hotel staff were all very wonderful and guest focused. I definitely recommend the Platzl and will be our go-to hotel on return.

Great location to walk to the Munich Christkindle Markets.

The Location is the plus point. It is in the center of the old town. Only minus is the room temperature. It got too hot in the middle of the night.

The hotel property was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was walkable.

The staff was very attentive and helpful. Beautiful hotel and perfect location to walk to the Christmas markets. Had a wonderful time.

We stayed her twice in November 2024 while visiting the Christmas Markets and seeing/hearing Krampus. Both times we felt taken care of and valued. The hotel has a great location and is well maintained. We could not be happier with this experience.
