Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma

I had a great stay at this hotel in Kyoto! The room was spacious, with plenty of luggage space, a nice sitting area, and lots of plugs and USB-C ports. The rain shower was excellent, and the Japanese toilet was impressive. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast, while decent, was the same every day and could use more variety. There’s only one restaurant on-site, but the food was good. Overall, a comfortable and well-equipped hotel—I’d definitely recommend it!

Except dinner at hotel

We loved our stay! Everyone was so friendly and the modern decor is beautiful!

Great hotel, clean rooms and helpful staff but breakfast was somewhat lacking. Went at different times each day and there was always some food that had run out. Quality of the food was very variable and western options were either stale or non-existent. Japanese/Chinese options were also not always of a high quality. Much of the hot food was overcooked.

Loved it and would choose this hostel again if I come back to Kyoto.

Stayed on two days after tour ended. I thought it was easier to stay in same hotel. I wish they had a bathtub in room, as other hotels I stayed in Japan. Breakfast was adequate, although at times had to wait for space and warned 7-8:30 would be busy. Cold, runny scrambled eggs and other egg option not appealing. Pleasant 20 min walk to the train station and shopping all around the area.

Good location, clean and spacious rooms. Bit disappointed with the breakfast buffet however overall we had a pleasant stay!

Conveniently located between Gojo and Shijo (Karasuma line) and Karasuma Stations (Hankyu line), as well as not too far from Kyoto Station, this hotel was excellent. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable with excellent amenities. Very much appreciated the laundry services. Also the bar/restaurant staff was great and very friendly. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the shops at Shijo-dori, but I appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle.

Beds were so comfortable the place was clean and a pleasant smell throughout. Loved it 10/10

Great hotel and friendly staff. Location was great. Close to trains and bus stops. Buffet was included in our stay and it really helped our day. Did not have to search for food first thing in the morning.

Highly recommended this location to tourists, the location was super convenient, the staff were all nice, the hotel room was spacious and clean. I also enjoyed the breakfast a lot with the Japanese dishes (miso soup, fish, rice, traditional side dishes), and of course other options are available as well. I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Great hotel.

Great hotel in Kyoto. Staff was very helpful. Large (for Japan) thoughtfully designed rooms. Blissfully cool during 95° heat. Close to bus stop, subway, and train station. Very clean and new. Kyoto was very crowded and busy and hot but this hotel made all the difference and was an oasis of calm. Five stars!

The staff was very helpful in assisting us in shipping our luggage. Breakfast was a great selection. Great location.

We stayed here for five days and we loved it. It’s central to everything we did. The staff was very helpful with. Everything we needed. We will be staying here again for sure. The room as have everything you need and they are a good size
