I've stayed here a couple of times now, it makes a great base of operations for me in Tokyo. It's northwest of Tokyo proper, but most of my friends and things I do are on the west side, and the Ikebukuro station is very easy to navigate: Gates for all the lines are directly connected to the underground and the hotel is easy to find from the station (just look for Sunshine City and then Exit 35). The hotel is maybe a 5 minute walk from the station entrance, so is quite convenient, and its room rates are very good. I like staying in Ikebukuro, as there are loads of little restaurants and bars near the hotel, as well as live music places that I've yet to check out. (Also tons of girls bars if you're into that and speak Japanese. I don't know much about that culture though.) The area has a very young vibe, and I find it very pleasant to stay there. I initially found Ikebukuro and this hotel when searching for low-cost places to stay with decent room sizes now that I'm retired. This is cheaper than I could find in Shibuya or Shinjuku, and those places are just a few stops away on the Yamanote or Saikyo lines. The rooms here aren't huge, but they're larger than many and the under-bed storage really makes a difference. The staff has limited English, but Google Translate works well and there's usually someone on duty that speaks at least some English. I didn't have any trouble communicating at all. Overall this is a great, very economical place in a fun area to stay in.

I stayed here for most of a 2-week combined business/pleasure trip. I'd never stayed in Ikebukuro before, but liked the area, it's easy to get anywhere from, and the Keio Presso Inn was the best deal I found at the time. (It's why I ended up in Ikebukuro.) The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the train station; it's only a 4-minute walk to the nearest entrance to the underground, and the station is pretty easy to navigate for such a major interchange. (Nothing like the nightmare that's Shinjuku :-0) I could have found (slightly) cheaper rooms, but wanted something larger than the standard 118 square-foot size because I had a fair bit of luggage and would spend good amounts of time in the room working. The room is not only larger than standard, but there's ample under-bed storage so I could tuck all my bags out of the way yet still get to them easily. The staff has very limited English, but it was easy enough to communicate with Google Translate on my phone, and I found them to be extremely pleasant and helpful. I didn't avail myself of the breakfast (included in the price at the time, I understand it's now an added charge), so can't comment on that, but the whole experience was great, and Ikebukuro is a fascinating area to explore: Tons of restaurants, bars and music venues are just a few minutes walk from the hotel, and the whole area has a very "young" vibe to it, which I like. Highly recommended!

close to ikebukuro station /sunshine city mall / nearby Don quijote across the station. Staff were helpful transporting luggage. Pro 1. great location 2. staff are friendly and helpful . able to communicate in English with ease Cons 1. Lack of soundproof . I can easily hear people talking in the hallway and in the rooms nearby. 2. the washroom had a very bad smell. it was so bad even wearing mask you can smell it. I had to request a deep clean. Deep clean help a lot but every time flushing toilet there some weird smell. 3. they need to replace the pillow. flat pillow beads/polyester type. lack of very neck support 4. there only 2 laundry machine available. the other ones located in separate floor is unavailable due to construction. that means using the laundry machine at late night (12am)or early in the day

Our "double" bed was the size of single bed and the room was only about 7ft by 7 ft (plus a tiny bath). Not big enough for two people.

I wasn't expecting much when I booked this hotel, but I was blown away by my experience. I liked the eco-friendly card activated room feature. The bathroom was nicer than expected and the hotel not only had the usual products (shampoo, conditioner, soap), but also things like toothbrushes and toothpaste. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. There were vending machines in the hotel with the usual drinks (AND BEER). If we're ever going back to an area with a Presso Inn, we're definitely choosing it.

I had a pleasant stay. The staff is very polite and helpful. I just wish they allow early check in. I arrived at the hotel early since I had an early flight. They checked me in I think 5-10 mins before 3pm.
