Canada Lodge is a great place to spend a weekend feeling the real japan nature! Great location to go hiking, biking in every season and of course during winter season is a cozy place to rest after a skiing day! Ken, the owner is an amazing host! Super friendly and always ready to help!! I will repeat staying here for sure!

Stayed here for a night with my girlfriend and we were literally the only people in the lodge, it is really far from the town of Hakuba, there's a 500 yen shuttle every hour or so that takes about 30 min. But we took a cab back from dinner and it was over 7000 yen. Pros - $120 CAD a night was pretty cheap for Hakuba in January. Our host was really nice and helpful although we had to use Google Translate a lot as he didn't speak much English. I could see this being a fun place to stay if you had a big group. There are a few resorts quite close. Cons - when we first arrived the Lodge was really cold and empty, it feels a bit rundown and there aren't many amenities. We were really looking forward to enjoying the big fire place when we got there but it wasn't lit and the lodge was really cold. It's really far from Hakuba, maybe 30 min drive although there is a shuttle every hour or so. There is only one bath/shower area in the basement that men get for 5-7 and women get from 7-9, we didn't use it. Our room was not made when we got there and was also freezing. After we went to bed our host and some of his friends got a fire going and the smoke filled the lodge, it was even quite smokey in our room with the door closed.

A very good resting place. This old lodge is a classic and warm inn. Unlike resort hotels, it is a quiet place where you can enjoy Hakuba and Otari range And its beautiful nature. It is a great place to bring family and friends with small children .

A great, fun place to stay in an amazing part of Japan. The lodge owner, Ken, is very friendly and a great guide too. The lodge is very spacious with a big fireplace. Can't wait to visit again!
