Great hotel, very attentive and pleasant staff. Room was very clean and nice, beds super comfortable. Washroom was clean and well designed. Main train station is only 20min walk away.
Cons: not convenient to get to due to the construction around it. Not close to any food/restaurants, 15min walk minimum to any food/stores.

Had a good experience, checked in early after asking. Car park can get too full so beware of that, though it is free and there is on the road car parking available down the side so you should still be okay.

Hotel conveniently placed at the outskirts of Rotterdam, only 10 minutes away from centre.
Quiet location with free parking, excellent staff and fantastic room quality with great view.
Highly recommended, and undoubtedly will book this hotel again upon our next visit to Rotterdam!

No wonder 4-stars hotel evaluation is still bad even with fake evaluations as unfriendly staff and bad room service can easily take away the whole stars.
The rooms were unclean and the bids were uncomfortable.
We don’t feel safe, so we didn’t extend our stay.
The hotel is totally not recommended

Good, basic hotel.
Room toilet seat was loose and curtain end was drooping.
Staff friendliness varied. Cleaning and restaurant staff very friendly but lobby staff did not greet or smile.
Sound insulation to traffic noise was excellent, but there's lots of contact sounds. My room was next to the stairwell and the slamming of doors woke me up early every morning.
Also, breakfast is only until 9, so this hotel is not so much for sleeping in late.
The parking lot is fenced and gated, no concern about security. The parking garage was dirty, lots of trash on the ground.

This was one of the best hotels I ever stayed in in the Netherlands! Life Marie was so informative and kind! I am so happy to have met her and I will recommend people who do not want to stay in Amsterdam to stay at this hotel!!! Also, THE BREAKFAST was delightful! I would certainly stay here again!

It is not an updated building. The room inside is kind of updated compared with the common areas, halls, elevator,( was broken when we stayed, so it would not go down to the ground floor) The free parking is a plus. It is a hotel just to sleep.

Always impressed with the Staff at Bastion. Even though they’re short staffed the staff we dealt with were excellent and positive.
Only “flaw” I experienced with property on busy days is that the outdoor smoking area is too close to the front doors so the entry way and front desk area has the lingering smell.
