great location and staff was very good! No elevator so if you have a heavy bag it is difficult but there is someone there to help you on most cases

Staff and service at this hotel is excellent, unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and my room which was within the main building of this hotel was uncomfortably warm (even with the window open in early June).

I wonder which institution determines the number of stars because with regard to this hotel Fletcher Marijke in Bergen, people are quite wrong. The small room was known but a bathroom of very minimal size, no cold shower water, no balcony, no air conditioning or mechanical ventilation in the room, mattresses too soft, parking fee 7.50 per day, no swimming pool, you wonder where it is 4 star rating ? comes from. That will not only be based on the staff and breakfast because that was great !

Our negative note concerns the quality of the service during dinner with eight persons: they forgot the two entree’s, forgot to bring water asked for, bad manners in serving plates. Furthermore the quality of the wine (Labeled Fletcher, grape Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon) was poor and considering the price of around euro 27, was a clear rip off. The retail price -if for sale- would have been maybe three euro’s, I guess. Breakfast is good, ambience we do like.

Really pleasant small hotel just outside the village centre. The hotel consists of a variety of buildings, with the main block supplemented by an annexe on the opposite side of the road which we were in. It is worth noting, that whilst the main block has a lift, the upper floor in the annexe can only be accessed by a steep staircase. Rooms are basic, so no facilities to make warm drinks. Breakfast was excellent, and we were lucky to be able to sit outside in the fine weather.

Great hotel. The breakfast buffet is fresh, delicious and includes Fries suikerbrood. What we sampled from their dinner menu (home smoked salmon and very tender steak) was absolutely superb, so was their wine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ideal location. Walking distance (+/- 500 m) from the center of town - Bergen - with its restaurants, shopping area, church ruins, animal park, etc. Close enough to the sea and the dunes by car/bicycle and close to Alkmaar for its cheese market for example. In the section where our room was located, the wall-to-wall carpet needs replacing and a coffee/tea facility in the room would be a plus. Other than that, we intend to go back.

Hotel is ok. Its a good quality resturant with good service and in a lovely area. However, parking is €7.50 a day and the hotel is in need of some refurbishment, particularly inside the rooms. The walls are also very thin, so you can hear a lot of our guests. Several coaches of elderly guests were there when I was, and they were not very quiet.
