Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam

The hotel and its staff are excellent. The facilities could not be faulted. A focus area for improvement would be around dining options. One of party has a vegetarian and gluten-free diet. The menu options between the restaurants and room service are not joined up. There were options on the room service menu that you could not get on the restaurant menu so the choice was really limiting. Also, not all staff were aware of the gluten free options available so we got different messages on different nights. A kids menu might also be worthwhile looking at. My daughter had spaghetti Bolognese but its not on a menu, we had to ask if there were any kids options available. Overall though, a great hotel, great staff, in a great location, in a great city. Would stay again for sure.

Staff were wonderful and the breakfasts were astounding. Our room a junior suite was perfect cleaned to a high standard every day. There was also a turn down service which added extra little touches. Also the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. The staff is also excellent from the moment you arrive until you leave.

Great hotel, centrally located with small gym, pool with sauna and steam room. Stylish decor and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful staff.

The property is somewhat dated but the staff is excellent. We had some trouble with over generous comforters! The featherbed on top of the mattress made the sleeping experience much too soft and very, very hot!

The hotel is absolutely a stunning piece of history. I highly recommend taking the tour of the hotel as seeing the wedding chamber is very worthwhile.

Exceptionally nice property. Great staff, nice rooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast buffet was pricey, but it did deliver on quality and variety. And of course a fantastic location and the place is quiet, which we liked.

Amazing location

At first I was given a room on the street and it was too noisy. I got moved the next day and that was much better. The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. The location is great as it’s just on the canal and near the swuare

The Sofitel was excellent. The location was perfect as it made it easy to get around.

Staff, service, location, property - 5 stars Rooms below par. Small rooms made smaller by stuffing beds together to make an extra buck. Disappointing.

Fabulous hotel staff and the restaurants are great. The rooms looked great and had a beautiful canal view. When we first got to our room we found a used hair comb by the bed and the bathroom smelt foul. We ran the shower and the smell went away for a short period. It came back through the night and was very unpleasant. The staff said they’d look into it but I’m assuming nothing could be done. Other than the smelly bathroom it’s a splendid location.

The hotel itself looks classy, restaurant absolutely beautiful both food and looks wise, area close to the center and reception staff were excellent

Been to some amazing hotels around the world, the staff and rooms of this place was pretty amazing. We now have turned this place into a yearly stop for us. Glad we didn’t stay anywhere else. They made my wife’s 40th so magical. Only thing I wish I had the ability to do is tip the staff as a group, especially the staff that made our room up multiple times a day, I wanted to thank them all rather than trying to hunt them down individually.
