Disappointing Experience with ED Amsterdam
I had high hopes for my stay at the ED Amsterdam, but unfortunately, I was unable to take my trip due to the sudden passing of my father. I had booked a non-refundable room, and while I fully understood the policy, I hoped for some flexibility given the circumstances. I requested to swap my dates to a future time and was open to paying the difference in price, as I understand rates can vary depending on the season.
However, I was deeply disappointed by the hotel’s approach. The additional charge they quoted for the new dates was nearly the same as my initial payment, effectively doubling the cost. To make matters worse, I found that I could book the same dates directly through other websites for less than my original price. It felt as though the hotel was taking advantage of the situation rather than offering reasonable support or understanding.
This experience left a sour taste, and I would be hesitant to book with them again in the future. Compassion and fairness go a long way in building customer trust, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel either in this case.

The hotel is beautiful, the location is conveniently located within walking distance of all major attractions. However, the bathroom door is clear glass and leaves little to the imagination when someone is using the toilet. Room service is done only every 3 days: they didn’t replace the empty tissue box, towels, or change the sheets after the three days when they came. Rooms have hooks, but minimal surfaces for storage.

Room: I had a double room and it was a fine size for one person. I would have felt cramped with a second person in there, but it would have been doable. Other than the shower not having a shelf for soap, razor, etc., I would say the room was almost perfect. If you are not accustomed to the size of European hotel rooms compared to American ones, then you might be a little disappointed with the size. But if you know what to expect, then this hotel does not disappoint. The room was clean, there was no closet but there was a rack with hanger on it and a suitcase holder.
Location: This hotel was in a great location for what I wanted, which was easy access to the major museums and a place to go for a quick run in the mornings. It was about .3 miles from Vondelpark and a ten-minute walk from the Museum Quarter. I walked everywhere - I did not take transportation one time during my stay except to get to and from the airport.
I did not get the breakfast because there are many nice little cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
Overall, great stay. I would stay here again if I return to Amsterdam.

I had a satisfying stay at this hotel, and overall, I’m pleased with my experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly from the moment I arrived, always available to answer questions and offer assistance with a warm attitude. The room itself was a bit small, but that seems typical of European hotels, so I wasn't surprised. It was cozy and provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
One major perk was the neighborhood was quiet—I was able to relax and get a good night’s sleep without any disturbances. The amenities were average, but they covered the basics, which was fine for my needs. I would definitely consider staying here again, especially if you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming spot.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Although the one thing that I wasn’t a fan of was that the rooms were super small. Once your suitcase was opened, there was barely any room on the floor to walk. Also, the elevator and hallways are very small. But besides that the hotel was nice and was in a really great area to walk around and explore Amsterdam.

Extremely clean and great location. Walkable to Amsterdam center and the museums. The staff was very nice. The rooms are small but if you’re just there to sleep, it does the job. You can hear noise from the street and noise from your neighbors if they’re being too loud. WiFi is great though. Would stay here again.
