Excellent location, room overlooking the Douro River. Nice clean and modern room. Breakfast is good, but pricy compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in Portugal, including Alfama, Lisboa. Staff is oddly unhelpful, but try to act busy and “professional”, even though the hotel was empty. Many restaurants near by.

The hotel staff was amazing. Very polite. The room was very cozy and clean. Comfortable bed. Visiting the roof-top bar is a must for a relaxing cup of coffee or an evening cocktail with an extraordinary view of the Douro river. Close enough to the center of town where a 5 minute Uber ride gets you to the charming river front but far enough to make it a relaxing retreat with little hassle. Very good breakfast with many options. If I was visiting Porto again, I would be a returning customer. Highly recommended.

Stayed two nights at this hotel, room size was alright and the mattress was comfortable. The balcony has a beautiful river view. Breakfast was good. Good variety and quality food. Staff at hotel were all helpful and friendly. The only thing is, if you rely on walking to sightseeing, I find it a bit far. There is bus stop nearby and the tram passes the hotel although the stop is not very near. Good soundproofing despite facing a busy main road. It’s quiet and peaceful at night. No convenience store nearby, supermarket is abt 15 min walk.

It’s one of the best hotels I have ever been to. Clean rooms with a beautiful view, just in front of an ancient little train from the 90’s, with a beautiful river, flowing with beauty and grace. A cozy skybar with various options in food and cool drinks. The service is great and the people are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is delicious with many options in bread, fruit, and drinks. Definitely recommended! One single irritation: when we were at the skybar, I ordered 2 scoops of strawberry ice cream with toffee toppings. First, the ice cream came with no toppings. We asked and we immediately got another one. This second ice cream had strawberry topping, even though we asked for toffee. We decided not to say anything to make things easier, but it was still a little irritating. Anyways, it’s a lovely little bar with a beautiful view and this was the only “imperfection”, so the skybar itself is still recommended.

(Stay during a Trafalgar tour in October 2024) The hotel itself was new and contemporary. Hooks and towel we're located very high.  Room seemed to be made for people that are very tall and since I'm shorter I struggle to reach some of the hooks. Water pressure was fine and water temperature seemed consistent. First and second floor share the same level. Although my room looked out onto a nice courtyard was a connecting room located on the ground floor and had a small window that was on the ground floor and half of the room was located underneath the ground. For a solo female traveler was alarming. The bed was uncomfortabe and sheets were a little rough. Area shops and restaurants were roughly 15 to 20 minute walk from hotel.  Food at the hotel was a little overpriced by a bit but very good.  The rooftop bar was pleasant and had a nice evening view of the lights in the area. When returning to the area I'm likely to find a different hotel, specifically if I'm traveling solo. Although in their reply they say do not offer connecting doors I had a door that went to my neighbor so maybe connecting isn't a phrase that they use in Portugal but in fact I did have a connecting room - which is a room that leads to another room without entering the hallway. Perhaps maybe that door led to Narnia. It did have a luggage bench in front of the door - but there was a door behind the bench. For the height in the bathroom the bench they provided is extremely heavy and large and completely impractical to use as it would not fit between the toilet and where I need to hang my stuff. I understand that you need and want to defend yourself but I think that the "clarification" was misleading.
