Great stay wonderful room, lovely staff and very central

Fantastic place to stay with a family. Would go back.

Whilst this place is a lovely place to stay and great location, and staff are very friendly. Unfortunately on this occasion, it didnt live up to the stay we had in the past at one of the London properties. The price that we had to pay, didnt meet our expectations. Very noisy room (1st floor) - the rooms open up onto an open hallway, so all noise from the entrance hall can be heard in the room. Plus the windows arent double glazed so you can hear the trams every 7 minutes plus the bottle collection early Saturday morning from the restaurants on the ground floor. Resturant staff I didn’t really appreciate when they questioned and lectured me on my parenting when my child was near the hallway handrails despite me being right beside her. As for the room - little disappointed that whilst I accept it is a self catering apartment, small basics would have been appreciated considering the price that I had paid. Examples being only a couple of tea bags for our 2 night stay, towels didnt get replaced, no tea towels, no chopping board, no washing up liquid, no salt & pepper, oil etc. Just little basics that could be provided, at little cost to the establishment rather than residents having to spend and then end up leaving everything behind. Finally, decor in the room - curtain didnt close properly which meant rooms were bright at night. Lots of marks on the room walls. A little dired looking.

First time we’ve stayed here and it lived up to expectations with really helpful staff and a high standard of service.

Super hotel - right in the heart of Edinburgh. Excellent value for price paid. No help with luggage at door and not easy to stop near hotel. Aside from that - really great.

Stunningly beautiful hotel - both the apartment and the common spaces - with lovely service at the register club at both breakfast and cocktail hour.

Have stayed here before and loved it. Was extremely disappointed this time. Had to squeeze up either side of the bed to get into it. The springs were gone on one side of the bed meaning it was hard not to roll out. There was mould in the bottom of the shower. The windows rattled in the wind in their frames. We tried to attend the Register bar at about 9.45pm to be told it was closed. When we pointed out the website said 11pm, the bar manager (Italian Manager) said he didn’t care, he finished at 10.30 and was told to be closed by then. We asked to speak to a manager, who was supposed to call us about the stay but that hasn’t happened.

Friendly and helpful staff, a spacious and well appointed room which was immaculately presented.

From the moment you walk in you are amazed by how beautiful the property is. The staff is exceptional, so friendly and helpful. They left a birthday card and bottle of Prosecco in my room for my milestone birthday. The location is one of the best places to be in Edinburgh. Close to many restaurants, shopping and the old town. Would definitely stay there next time in Edinburgh.

Fantastic, spacious rooms with everything you need while away, being able to have a walk around shops and come back to home from home environment made the stay enjoyable, Lovely and clean and very spacious, shower was amazing, me and my partner really couldn’t ask for a better place to stay for a few nights away.

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Edinburgh Grand. Great location. Comfortable, well designed room. Terrific staff. Good gym. We had a snafu with the in-room washer/dryer that unfortunately didn’t drain properly. Staff was valiant in their efforts to help fix things. Had great cocktails and meal at Hawksmoor. Did not love our experience in the Lady Libertine basement space - very dark, so-so cocktails, and VERY LOUD. We had loved our dinner at Bon Vivant and had higher expectations for this sister restaurant. We have already shared with friends/family our recommendation for this hotel. Would absolutely stay here again.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Both restaurants were very good, we ate at them all three nights. Plenty of restaurants near by but we were tired and kept forgetting to make reservations outside. Super close to the train station, airport and old town.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Room was excellent, staff was helpful and location was perfect.

I think I’ve stayed in all of the high end hotels in Edinburgh over the years , this one is up there with the very best , we will return , excellent facilities , first class service and a five minute walk to all of the shops and restaurants you can handle

Beautiful, centrally located property near many restaurants and upscale shops. Well designed apartment. Helpful and friendly staff.

Awesome location and historic building. Room was excellent. Great restaurant choice in the hotel but we didn't try. Only gripe is the that a car cannot stop outside the hotel but it is workable.

Stuck in the elevator for two hours. No refund on the room. Only a couple drink tickets for the bar but we don't even drink.

It definitely will be a place to return to, the staff were so helpful and kind. I took a trip and was not able to carry my suitcase with me, they held them for me until I returned. This hotel gave such positive energy. Love it.
