This is a quite hotel with a couple of areas where you can sit and read with coffee or tea. Its a very short walk from the railway station and just round the corner from the town square. If you want to park make sure you book early as there are only 5 places in the courtyard. The room was clean and comfortable. The town can easily be covered on foot with coop in the shopping center. For the surrounding areas a car is needed but the roads are very free of traffic. Easy connection by train from Copenhagen Airport or town

A pleasant stay no view from the courtyard room but has the benefit of being quite. Like nearly all the hotels I have stayed in Sweden the facilities are limited in your room no hot drink making in your room but the tap water is safe to drink. Good selection for breakfast and starts nice and early 6-30. Great location 3 minutes from train station 20 seconds from the city,

Overall the service was good. The Breakfast was your typical hotel style, location was good. I couldn't get the wifi to work however and the information in the book provided in each room was outdated.

Overall, I was quite satisfied - but it wasn't a "five star" experience. The hotel was 5 mins walk away from Vattenriket, the local nature reserve, which was the goal of my trip. It is also very close to shopping and restaurants. However, the location is along a very busy and noisy street, with loads of car and bus traffic even late into the night. Main problem was the very poor ventilation in the room - especially in the bathroom, which turned into a sauna after even a short shower. Because the weather was very hot, so was the room - and no A/C meant a quite uncomfortable night, despite a really good bed. Also, the room was quite small, and had an "old" feel. But the breakfast was quite good, and there was access to free coffee at all times. The best part was the personnel in the reception, who were really super nice and very helpful! They really made a great difference and raise the overall score considerably!

The hotel is perfectly located and could not be more charming. The staff and owners accommodated every need and was more than helpful. Definitely my home away from home while in Kristianstad.

If one is in any way dissatisfied with Duxiana, it must be because they like fake smiles, plastic accommodations, gross proportions, and/or a remote location! The Duxiana is wonderful! While it is a tastefully remodeled hotel with Dux beds; a beautiful balcony; calm, delightful sitting areas; an excellent breakfast (gluten- and lactose-free options, too); and an ideal location, Duxiana makes it to the top of the favorites list because of the genuine, helpful, happy people who own it and those who work there.

The Sirius is an older style hotel of the kind that is quickly disappearing among the hotel chain clones. As such it is functional rather than plush, the service friendly and personal rather than gushing and plastic. Even the building itself had character, with a sweeping stone spiral staircase leading up to the rooms. The welcome by the owner was genuine and warm - so much so that when we bumped into him in a restaurant the following night, he made a point of coming over and shaking hands. The other staff proved friendly too. The room was basic, but very clean and comfortable. It was also spacious with a sofa and coffee table in addition to the twin beds and a large flat screen TV. A continental breakfast buffet was included, taken in a breakfast room attached to the downstairs bar/lounge (drinks are purchased from the reception desk). The walls of this were themselves interesting with a comprehensive collection of Absolut Vodka advert posters and posters from several decades of the Kristianstad and Ahus Jazz Festival. In terms of location, the hotel is very close to the station and just a couple of minutes walk from the compact centre of the town with several restaurants and bars to hand, though we found finding one with any one in on an off-season Thursday evening a challenge. Kristianstad itself is a fine town and is handy for the Skane coast from Ahus down to Ystad and so forms an ideal base for a visit to this wonderful part of Sweden. My only criticism would be that the hotel is a little expensive for the quality of the room, but then again, this is Scandinavia and what you do get in the price is the atmosphere so often missing from more modern hotels.
