Walking distance from the train station. But there’s a small hill to walk up. They have pizza if you are too tired to go out for dinner. Free sauna which is very nice on the cold days.

The hotel is very nice and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and the views are incredible. We don’t ski but for those who do this is a great spot. We couldn’t park on property because we didn’t install the snow chains but there’s a parking garage right across the street so it workout for us. I am extremely satisfied with their hospitality and I would definitely be staying again if I come back.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Since our activities got shut diwn due to weather, they were helpful with accomadating our needs. The location has incredible views. Rooms were comfortable. The walk to hotel is a bit difficult up hills, made more difficult due to ice and snow.

We had a wonderful stay at the Alpenhof. It’s charming, comfortable, quiet for sleeping, and all around a great hotel. We loved the breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. The walk up from the train station (very short, by the way) is a steep uphill. A little tricky in the snow but definitely worth it. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Alpenhof if a beautiful, peaceful hotel in Grendelwald. We had a suite on the top floor with a balcony and a sweeping view of the mountains and green hillsides. The room was spacious and clean, with an handy minibar in case you want to have a beer on the nice deck, and tastefully decorated in Swiss style. The restaurant offered good Swiss food and a nice breakfast buffet. Staff were very nice. It’s right up the hill from the train station, so very convenient. They will pick you up if you don’t want to walk up the hill with your luggage upon arrival. We loved this place and highly recommend it.

Absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly. The room was beautiful. Close enough to walk around the town. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone! Plus you can not get a bad view of the mountains.

This is a perfect Alpine chalet style hotel with excellent service from all the staff. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with a good selection of breads, cheese, fruits, etc and dinner in the restaurant was terrific. The hotels WiFi was fast and few perks for travelers were the washer/dryer, parking, sauna, etc. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends. Our only minor complaint is it is a little tricky to find using GPS so a few more signs would be helpful! Love this place!!!!!!

Overall my experience was very good. Only issue was room was on the lower floor and felt cold in the evening. Heaters were never very warm and I believe were off at night.

The alpenhof has a wonderful outlook towards the Eiger and is also close to Grindelwald station and the main street. Our large room had a wonderful view from the balcony, was well laid out, warm, the beds comfortable and the bathroom functional. There was a little table and sufficient bench space. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was hosted in quite a small space which led to some overcrowding in the mornings. The breakfast selection was nice particularly the local cheeses. The host took hot drink orders but you had to remember to ask for scrambled eggs (Ruhrei) as there wasn't space for the usual bain-marie. Downside was that to get the wonderful balcony view you have to walk up a steep hill so if you are fit and/or have light luggage then no issues. The restaurant was closed while we were staying. Overall very enjoyable as was Grindelwald and the Jungfrau region

Just checked out of Alpenhof this morning . What an amazing stay we had . The room we booked was large with its own sitting area and balcony. The view was spectacular. It’s close to the train station so connecting to amenities is convenient. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the area- especially Maria- thank you for everything! Stay at the alpenhof, you won’t be disappointed.
