First time at the ArtHouse and we’d definitely stay here again. Good beds, great shower, thermostat works well, breakfast was good (albeit limited in the choices), staff was both friendly, helpful, and competent. Also liked the vibe; kinda lively and not fusty…

We stayed at the Arthouse Hotel from 30th Dec to 6th Jan in room 1002 and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The restaurant, Serafina, was fantastic - we ate there for dinner on the Friday night and the food was first class. The room was sufficient for our needs but was a bit basic. It would have been nice to have a proper chest of drawers to put clothes in rather than the odd metal unit that was there. Also, the heating system made so much noise when switched on that we couldn't have it on during the night so we got very cold. Once we asked for an extra duvet, we were much warmer but the heating system definitely needs updating. Also, the hairdryer in the bathroom provided by the hotel didn't work. And the sink in the bathroom needed to have some hooks on either side of it as we had to balance the hand towel on the sink and it frequently fell off on to the floor. The bed was very comfortable though and we slept very well each night. All in all, a good hotel and the location was excellent.

It’s a huge room but nothing special. The staff was great until the last day when we unexpectedly had to put our dog down while trying to checkout. I called to explain the situation and asked for a late checkout. They accommodated but were not overly kind about it. I understand they have a business to run but we were FaceTiming with our pet sitter and vet as they needed to put him down and we were barely holding ourselves together. Other things I didn’t realize when booking was no room service. The blinds were too heavy for the mechanism they were attached to so we needed to hold the blinds up while we pulled the chain. Not terrible but def a little detail that was a bit annoying. The lobby is gorgeous and thought the rooms would have the same pizazz but they were just blah. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in nyc and this was my least fav but def the biggest for the price point.

When we checked in, the woman who checked us in asked if we wanted to know anything about the hotel. We responded no as I thought she wanted to give us a history of the hotel. She did not tell us what floor we were on, how to work our card with the elevator, wifi, nothing.

The Arthouse is among my favorite hotels in the world. It is my pied a terre in NYC and perfectly positioned for those who love Central and Riverside Parks, Lincoln Center, Broadway and the Upper West Side. The rooms are wonderfully designed in all categories, the staff friendly and quick, and the elegantly inviting living room/ bar/cafe with attached Serafina Restaurant make it perfect to relax or work "at home" at any time of day throughout your stay. Always interesting guests ... and the bell men are all the best!!

Long wait for check in and check out Very small rooms. Misleading photos online for room size/ bathroom size. Wasn’t told during online booking that they are undergoing repairs so there was scaffolding on the windows. Booking said free continental breakfast, which was only choice of 1 pastry and coffee. But very helpful and friendly staff. Nice salsa music band for New Year’s Eve night.
