I stayed in the cabana suites across the street. I was a little leery about that but that place is pretty good over there. Location has fantastic. Food is excellent. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I enjoyed the El Cortez cabanas . It’s separated from the casino area and much quieter which I loved. I do wish that they had a microwave in the room but that’s no biggie.
Please note if you’re looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle DO NOT choose El Cortez . They only have.a shuttle to take you to the airport but not one that picks you up FROM the airport which I did not know before hand . Other than that inconvenience it’s a decent stay for the price.

There were three couples on our trip in 3 different rooms and all of them had maintenance issues. The hotel employees were responsive and tried to gix everything but some things, like drainage, and water pressure were likely just due to the age of the buildings

First of all I know all these good reviews are lying. I booked this hotel after reading a lot of good reviews. I don’t usually stay off the strip as I’ve never had a good experience doing so, this solidified that further. The location is so amazing and the hotel itself is iconic so I was willing to deal with things being different. The women that checked us in was amazing and super nice. However the room was not updated like the photos show, it looks like it’s been the same since the 90s at least. Things were dirty or falling apart. And the worse part was you could clear as day hear a club down the street. Like I was in bed and the club at the same time. It was insane and bass was so high the building was literally vibrating. I know this is a busy part of town and I was expecting some noise, but this was honestly insane. I couldn’t fall asleep until the club closed at 3am. I know this is a party city, but we got in late and really needed some sleep. We were suppose to stay two nights but left after the first. They refused to change our room stating the hotel was booked out for the night but I still saw rooms available online. We ended up going to the Sahara instead the second night and it was much nicer. After a day of travel or fun you just want a quiet night of sleep and that’s not happening here unless you’re out until 3am.

Might all well be staying at a motel. All rooms are facing an outside walkway. The noise from Freemont Street is terrible. The room was basically a "no tell motel". My room smelled like weed for two days and I slept in my clothes afraid to even touch the covers.

Very clean room! Staff was very friendly. Only 2 downsides were the beds wre worn out and not very comfortable and the bathroom did not have a full wall... very inconvenient for a friend, your significant other and yourself to share a room.
