1st stay 10 yrs ago. Still very clean, charming & quaint! Super happy to see the Hayes Valley area has continued to blossom & thrive into a 'hot destination area'!!! Housekeeping took care of our immediate needs and accomodated us with attentive care regarding check in/out as we do not have a cell phone!

Rented the room for a friend. Staff was very nice, helpful. Room was clean.

Good location. Unloading was a tough experience and you’ll have to walk up stairs to get to your room but the rooms are clean as well as the community bath and water closet. The bed was super comfy. I’d definitely recommend it for the price.

The place is super quaint and very cozy and clean. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

I was a bit nervous about the shared bathroom, but it was a non-issue. Property is old but well maintained and clean. Lots of local options for food and drink. Van Ness Muni (subway) stop was an easy 3 - 4 block walk away. Area around Van Ness was sketchy with homeless... I felt OK but I'm a 6ft male. Area right around property seemed like a nice, inter-city neighborhood. Didn't see any A/C, so might be hot in summer. I'd book here again!

Very well-kept hotel in a convenient Hayes Valley location. Lack of an elevator may be a challenge for older or disabled persons.

Pleasantly surprised. Next time I will stay for a month! I like communal living, so the shared facilities felt good to me. It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in a guest house, and the noise took some getting used to, but it’s all part of the experience. If you’re afraid of the unhoused population, I don’t know what to tell you. Makes me happy as a bug in a rug to stay in a lovely old well-loved (and secure!) guesthouse. Will stay again.

Small room and shared bathroom, but the location is great, and the price is reasonable for what you get. Definitely way better than staying in the Tenderloin, and not much more expensive.

I called the property around 12:45pm on 9/5 regarding a lost item. They never replied. I texted around 9:30pm and am still awaiting a response. The day before, I contacted the number provided to ask questions; no reply. Very unprofessional.

It was okay but confusing to understand how to use the codes at first.

What an absolutely wonderful stay!!! Everything from check in to cleanliness was perfect. Old and charming, clean and communicating, we absolutely adored our time here!

Safe area to stay at! 5 min walk to public transportation from where you easily can get to any part of the city. Room and shared restrooms were clean. Had a room in the third floor so had to go up the stairs each time, no elevator. Windows in the room can not be opened, room had an AC output but air condition was still very stuffy.

DISGUSTING! No soap/toilet paper in main bathroom, with a separate toilet-only bathroom with no sink. Stained sheets. Dirty shower caddy for your use. Musty room smell. Neighbors (live-in housekeeping staff?) yelling at each other through paper-thin walls to keep it down. No on-site front desk, and remote support takes an hour to reply through text. You’ll get locked out of your room if your phone runs out of battery. Maybe this place was different before COVID, but now it basically feels like a place for the transitory homeless. I left behind the $2 hand soap I had to buy from Safeway, so maybe someone can use that until it runs out.

I really have enjoyed my stay here, it feels like home; I would rewind it in the future.

Very small rooms, but you pay for what you get. Amazing area in Hayes Valley with many things within walking distance. We were two women travelers and felt safe the entire 4 night stay here!

Love the hotel staff. They were able to make my stay important even though the maid service could do a better job with the cleaning, and wish the facilities were accessible to disabled folks who have trouble with stair climbing. Other than that I’ll be willing to stay at this property again.
