Holiday Inn FORT MYERS - DOWNTOWN AREA, an IHG Hotel

It was a pleasure speaking with Rick and Christine. They helped me enjoy my stay as I was there for a funeral.

No cable TV, Sink backed up everytime the shower was on or the toilet flushed (nasty brown water leaving residue), Very slow WiFi, Bad part of town

Check in was easy and staff at check in were nice but once we stepped out of the elevator the rugs were full of trash and scattered plastic silver where. The halls need vacuuming badly. Dirty laundry lay in front of doorways even after 5pm. Clean it up and it would be a nice place

1. Advertising stated free breakfast-no, was $10.59 a person for the typical hotel buffet, and you couldn’t take to your room - had to eat there. 2. The room is extremely outdated, dresser/tv stand is all chipped up and the partical board all warped, lamps weren’t secure, felt like when I turned them on they were going to fall over, bathroom layout was horrible and the door was in the way. 3. The grossed part was the hallway smelled like old pet odors and cigarette smoke 4. The whole place was dirty and run down 5. And to advertise downtown - it’s not walkable 1.4 miles Spent $150 a night for a while in the wall - I’ve spent less and had a better room!

Hotel is going through some renovations which I understand the property is in need of complete overall . Breakfast is provided by third party at only $10 per person which does not cover the cost the lady serving breakfast does not understand any concept on customer service whatsoever rude forgetful and not very pleasant

Fair price for the conditions of the property. Hotel was going through renovations. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Floors were a little dirty and shower curtain smelled sour.

The elevator was not working and we got stuck between floors. The hotel was renovating and there was extra noise. The breakfast was not as advertised and not adequately staffed. It looked as if it could be a reasonable place to stay if these issues were resolved.

Place was under construction at the moment but very nice and comfortable for everything they had to offer.

When I booked it said breakfast included. One one the reasons I booked the hotel because is very convenient. But they don’t have breakfast.

The staff were awesome and friendly. Even let us check in 35 minutes early. They provided a crib and all. But the sink was dirty with hairs and dirt when we arrived. Made me wonder if the room was clean. I asked a lady who said she’s check for me. They brought the crib to the room and the bed was made and trash emptied so I assumed it was clean and the sink was over looked. They came to clean the sink. Later noticed the sink was clogged with a slow drain. At night I became itchy and realized the sheets were stained under my comforter. The crib was dirty on the bars and the couch had a stain. At midnight my mind was all over the place about letting my 3 month and1 year old touch these surfaces. Very convenient area in my opinion. Very nice staff. I didn’t care that the place (like many hotels) could use some updates (and was being renovated during the stay). Just not happy with the stains dirt etc that eventually gave me the ick.

Overall we were happy. Positives were the front desk staff both guys were knowledgeable and helpful, didn't need to chat to the lady do can't comment.. Room was clean appropriate. However there was renovation workers busy in the corridor for an hour when we arrived at 4pm approx. The rooms a/c was noisy so we were moved to another room unfortunately the main a/c was just outside our window so not much of an improvement. But we slept well so no problem. Now the negative point happened in the breakfast room which is ran but independent company. The person on duty taking orders was so harsh that we felt guilty being there. Also we were waiting minutes with no apologies. Then she took our order, well to be honest she almost told us what we were having. The order / omelet arrived and wasn't to a good standard. I was halfway through eating mine as I was hungry and the realised that I had no sausage and no spinach as ordered. When I explained the lady said it's not easy to remember orders even though walks with a pen and notebook in hand. To my surprise after 5 mins she appeared with another omelet by this time I'd eaten the first one. Anyway I ate the second one of which was almost lacking the meat again, photos below. She was so abrupt and hard in her mannerism. No apologies and in fact blamed us...I didn't want two inferior tiny omlets, I just wanted one that was as the standard we have been used to on our USA trip..so that's why only a good review and first time gave no tip.

Very cool for short term stays
