Location is good but way overpriced. Super small rooms, kicked my shin on the bed frame multiple times, I could hear people coming and going super early. If it was way cheaper, I would have been ok, but for the price? No.

I was intially excited to stay at this hotel it looked like a cool spot but pictures got the best of me. I called a week in advance advocating for early check in and the person over the phone mentioned that I would be put in a queue and receive a text message the morning of the day of check in. That never ended up happening and even called on the morning of my stay and could barely agree even though when I spoke to another and mentioned I need to get ready for a wedding that it should work out. When I arrived at the hotel the gentleman behind the desk was rather unhelpful and said my 2 rooms are not ready and that it should take another 30 minutes, the 30 minutes has elapsed and can't do anything for me. I assure him that I don't need the room to pass nasa cleanliness inspection I need a room to get ready for a wedding within the next hour and finally made it happen. He was rather cold during the whole experience. Hotel has no elevator and the rooms are pretty small. Even the next morning asking for a late checkout on a Monday in SB they also were rather reluctant to grant this. It is my impression that this hotel is ran to not budge an inch or to never go the extra mile for the customer. Even on checkout the next front desk guy was just bad mood and never did anything to make me want to return to this hotel. Shout out the valet parking guys they were the only people at the hotel who were rather cool and made it happen.

Nice, well-designed small room. Very clean, with good lighting Pillows not comfortable and some very inconsiderate people making a lot of noise when returning in the evening.

Clean and comfortable

I’ve stayed twice. This time I had a chance to take advantage of more of the amenities. I had a free 2-he bike rental with my room and LOVED it! I rode up and down the bike path on the beach and it was beautiful and relaxing. The main reason I choose this hotel is its proximity to the train station, affordability (for SB) and the rooms are cute. The staff is always really nice. 5 stars! Will come back! Thank you.

Our 2nd stay with our dog was as good as the first. The private patio is great for pets!

This is a great location—walk to beach, funk zone and lower state. Have to wonder if we had one on the noisier rooms, being in the front. We heard lots of traffic and loud people. At 6:55 am there were long blasts from the train. The room temperature was 53 when we walked in and the TV did not work — I guess because of dead batteries in the remote. The only way to make the room dark was to take out the bulb of the light next to the bed because when it was turned off another light came on.

We loved staying at the Riviera. It was a prime location for all of the fun activities and great food in Santa Barbara. Service was friendly and prompt for any needs we had and the hotel smelled amazing. Iwould definitely recommend a stay here for anyone wanting to experience the best of Santa Barbara.

The hotel is nice and very well located. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did have an issue with the AC leaking water into the bedroom, and were given towels as a solution (were offered to change rooms if the problem persisted, but we turned off the AC to stop the leak). The room itself was nicely done and well kept. However, it was really noise until about 11pm. There’s a rumbling in the room and the corridor that probably comes from the restaurant machinery. It’s really noticeable and bothersome.

Great location, close to restaurants and bars, ocean

The small patios were really nice. I could relax away from the room while my husband worked or watched TV. We both spent some time out there just chatting and planning the day.

We loved our stay in this trendy, peaceful beach hotel. Very helpful and attentive front desk workers. Useful bag drop. Many restaurants nearby. The room was a little small but had everything we needed

The hotel was new, nice, and conveniently located near the beach and Funk Zone. The rooms are very small and the showers have no walls. There is no cleaning, you need to ask. However, it is the nosiest hotel on the planet. It’s right next to the train station, street noise is loud. This property really needs noise canceling windows. We could barely sleep. At an almost comical end to our stay, the cleaning crew decided to clean our windows from the outside with a water hose at 5:45am. Stay here if you are a deep sleeper.

The room is small otherwise doable. Most of the staff and connecting restaurant people are great. Manager needs some skills. There are definitely other employees there that we met that would do a much better job.

Lovely well equipped room and the hotel is in a great location to explore Santa Barbara.
