I love a boutique hotel for all its quirks. Love the wooden floor. Similar to my house. Bed was comfy. Blinds in the room made it plenty dark. Shower was a bit too small. Coffee in lobby cafe was good. Honestly, no complaints. Plenty of street parking for my car. Walking distance to everything I needed.

Couple. 2 night stay. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Parking was busy and expensive. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable but could do with more pillows as there was a gap between the bed and headboard. Windows in room are alarmed so cannot open. Cooling fan in window worked fine. We couldn't work the heater fan in the room. Restroom was clean but small, and sliding door left a gap where the bedroom area was visible. Small TV worked great. Would stay again.

Friendly staff, great location. The only downside was our room had no fan ot way to control the heat/air so it was very warm in there

We have stayed here before, and our experiences have been consistently good! My only complaint is lack of coffee either in the rooms, or in the lobby. On very cold mornings, walking to Cafe Nero is not ideal.

To be fair, this is not a bad hotel. The staff are warm and gracious. Great location. Bad: no in-room coffee maker, but happy to charge you mini-bar style for ‘instant coffee’ but with no ready access to the requisite steeped water. Umm…the lift (elevator) is an ‘experience’. I ultimately elected to simply use the stairs. And worse by far is that (at least) if you are on the 2nd floor, you are ‘treated’ to the sounds of The BoomBox from open til closing time …incessant and non-stop bass thump…not ideal if your a lighter sleeper. More power to you if you love partying all night … So, all in all, the Dean is not bad but certainly doesn’t represent any lodging value .

Did not have an iron to offer. (Did have a steamer but did not use b/c we had our own. Hangers on wall were oddly spaced and did not have any “closet” space between items. Bar way not open but was able to use free drink at coffee shop. Ample options and the barista was very nice and the drinks were delicious!

Overall the hotel was lovely and clean. The coffee shop was not open either of the mornings we stayed which was fine since there was another shop just down the street. My only complaint is the bed - it was simply the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on. It was sinking in the middle & we had to ask for extra pillows to put in the middle of the bed so we could actually try to sleep and not constantly roll into the middle of the bed. I'd compare it to sleeping on a very deflated air mattress. 0/10 on sleep quality and hours slept during the weekend we stayed here.

This is a difficult time of year to stay when I wish all workers had time for their families. It’s the holidays so take with a grain of salt. The amenities aren’t always available when we stay; coffee shop was not open, the bar, and we couldn’t use our drink tickets. I’m sure this is because of the holidays and staffing is tight. The hotel staff and cleaning staff are very friendly and available upon request. So it was nice to have extra blankets and our room turned over after a long day with family.

The old lift is charming. There was an error with our reservation: we reserved a King room but were assigned a queen. The lobby coffee service was not available although the sign says it was. There was no storage in the room, so we couldn't unpack.

I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars or a high rating on Expedia. It’s not the worst place in the world, but as someone who has traveled to providence frequently I would highly recommend picking any other option. The hotel is ridiculously outdated, and offers nothing but aesthetics. It’s cute and charming in the lobby, but the rooms are ridiculously small and offer nothing. There is no closet or space at all to unpack, there is not even a fridge or a coffee maker, the rooms are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING, the entire room is dismal. The elevator is actually nightmare fuel so get ready to climb 4 flights of stairs. Lastly, the woman with black hair and glasses who worked the night shift Sunday the 15th was so rude, she gave me a nasty look because she had to open the door. Would not recommend to anyone. Even someone I hated.

We stayed over night for a Xmas party up on Federal Hill. 20 minute walk. We had a suite with king size bed. A sitting area and a flat screen TV. Water in shower was very hot. Cute little speakeasy bar downstairs with Richard the bar tender who expressed a lot of local knowledge. Only disappointment was the coffee bar was not open on Saturday AM. Plenty of onsite parking. I will return.

Disappointing. Very. Room was very cold, heating not working, was supplied with a space heater and told I could get more blankets. A frequent tapping coming from god knows where throughout the day--potentially disturbing sleep. and NO coffee provided in the room or at the barista station in the lobby! Had to dress, put on a coat and walk around an unfamiliar city to find coffee in sub-freezing weather!

The temperature outside the night I stayed was in the 20s. The temperature inside my room was exceptionally wonderful and toasty! The bed was quite comfortable however I might suggest upgrade to memory foam.

The staff at this hotel were so, so nice and so accommodating. My room had no heat and no ac- there was a standing fan in the bathroom and a space heater in the bedroom. The whole room and hotel weren’t very clean. I checked out right after I got to my room and found other accommodations, but again, the staff was amazing.

Make sure you get the bigger room so you have somewhere to put your clothes. Also no irons. Some of the staff are too hip to smile and don’t rely on the coffee shop to be open in the morning. Having said that, better than most of the standard options in Providence.

I walked in here already angry because I paid for my room in advance, and the week before the price dropped and the hotel wasn’t willing to match the new lower price. After checking in I mentioned to the desk clerk “the website says there is a free cocktail” and then they rolled their eyes and said, “Ughhhhh, fine, I can do that.” Seriously? Then proceeds to tell me, “Well our bar isn’t open tonight.” False advertising. The room was tiny, fine for one person but two would be a nightmare. Ripped up rug and scratched up hardwood floors are supposed to be artsy/cool but look trashy. Creepy painting on the wall. Nightmare vintage elevator. Positives were the Bath products smelled great, room was clean, and the location was great to walk around downtown.
